Mid table seems about right at the moment. Slow start, gained some momentum, but not quite firing on all cylinders.
However game in hand, which we were losing. Might have drawn or may even win in the replay. Away form considered would make a difference of none if the first two options or just outside the playoffs with a win. So not so bad but still leaves us short of the magic 2 points per game.
Keep winning at home and gaining draws away, but need to throw in an away win or two to get us back on track.

Swansea battled their way to a very good point at Southampton yesterday, I can see that being a tough game, QPR could give us a better chance. We really need Two home wins this week which I think is more than achievable. 10 points from 4 games would really put us in the mix. | | | |

We need to get on a winning run. I make us about 5 points behind where we want to be (2 ppg). Our next 8 games are all perfectly winnable but we need to actually win a good chunk of them (5 or 6). Fewer than 16 points from them and we are giving ourselves a lot of ground to catch up. |  |

I still think we'll end up nearer the top over the course of the season, but I do think we need a little patience like Leeds had when they came down and we gatecrashed their aims of going up automatically and just settled down with a few changes then stormed the league.

Feels a bit like periods of last season where we largely look ok but have a defensive ricket in us at any moment and aren't finishing clinically. The coming run of two-game weeks may make or break our realistic hopes of top two. It could play into our hands given in most departments we have the depth to cope better than others; on the other hand it could be too much too quickly for a team still struggling for cohesion and identity.
