Bottom three Premier League 03:10 - Oct 19 with 1757 viewsquirkie

Forest, West Ham, Wolves.

Stays like that I hope we aren't in the Championship Aug 2026. Fair play to Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley giving it a proper go this season.

If McKenna doesn't start getting this side to perform next 10 games, we won't be going up this season, and can't see it next season.

Saying that watch us get 12pts from the next 4 games, 3 home wins and an away win at last.

Which other PL teams do you think, if relegated, wouldn't become an overwhelming favourite to go back up?

In addition you could also have parachute teams Leicester and Southampton in the mix next season too.

It adds some pressure on going up this season doesn’t it.

Sunderland & Burnley have as many PL wins in 8 games as ourselves & Southampton managed in the full 38 last season.

Any relegated PL team will present the same challenge.

A lot of Town fans were saying at this stage last season its was a fight between basket case Everton, Wolves and basket case West Ham & Southampton for relegation and if could finish above those we would be fine. But 3 of those teams completely changed their form from around Dec/Jan

There is a long way to go. I really hope Sunderland, Burnley & Leeds can survive. But Sunderland only need a couple of injuries while losing 3 or 4 players to the African Nations Cup and they could easily find themselves in a spiral in the other direction.

Sure, but Sunderland have played all of the current bottom five and none of the top six. Burnley have only beaten the other promoted teams.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Forest have largely succeeded in recent seasons despite their owner. Gets the odd managerial appointment right but then messes it up. So they could be a right mess. West Ham and Wolves could get it right as Southampton and Leicester did a coupe of years ago, but after so many years in the top flight it is difficult to tell how they will adjust back down here.

If we don't go up and everyone keeps their head and McKenna is still here building tis team then we will be better placed than most of them to get promoted.

I have cause for positivity and optimism - having parachute status doesn't make them brilliant!

After all, just look at us...

Agree. Sunderland have made a good start, but context on teams played is a huge part.

However, the favourable fixture list has given them momentum we never had which is a huge plus for them.

For all Leeds bravado, losing to Burnley should be a big wake up call for them

Sunderland have 65% our points total in EIGHT GAMES- let that sink in.

But we are elite and world class off the pitch. If you close your eyes, and dear god, don’t watch Bournemouth sign a striker and left back, who already look world class, for less, MUCH less than we paid for our EFL talent.

If we repeat Elite often enough, I think
It becomes true, and Ashtons WBA address book manifests into Mendez’ world class networks. Maybe.

Largely agree with this, though I think this will be Wolves season to go. You can't keep selling your best players and continue getting away with it.

"If McKenna doesn't start getting this side to perform next 10 games, we won't be going up this season, and can't see it next season."

So if we don't start playing better in the next 10 games, we won't go up this year OR next year?

Could you let us all know the lottery numbers for the next 18 months please?

You've fallen for the myth that the showbiz league is competitive. Wait til May - I suspect all three will be safe and the three up will be coming back down...
