Hypothetical circumstance tonight on 14:17 - Oct 21 with 652 views | TRUE_BLUE123 | Clarke. Players are allowed to miss a penalty. As soon as you miss 2 in a row you should be taken off the job imo.

Hypothetical circumstance tonight on 14:19 - Oct 21 with 645 views | IH_KGF | Not even a debate is it? Hirst has taken 3 and missed 2, JC has scored all he's taken (i think) Even if 3/4-0 up, I'd still like to see a professional approach taken and JC take it

Hypothetical circumstance tonight on 16:00 - Oct 21 with 333 views | MrPotatoHead | Depends on the score. If its decisive I would rather Clarke took it as I have more confidence in him. If we're a few goals up (we can dream) then let Hirst have it for his confidence.

Hypothetical circumstance tonight on 16:10 - Oct 21 with 295 views | Smoresy | I'd feel calmer with Clarke. Clarke first took on pen duties in 23/24, inheriting from Diallo & Stewart at Sunderland. He scored all 5 and has scored all 2 for us. Does he feel naturally suited to them? He took his first professional penalty at the age of 22 and wasn't one of our five takers against Forest last year, so probably not, but I'm thankful he's stuck his hand up again this season. Hits them firmly. 7 from 7, arguably he's due a miss! Hirst isn't currently his best shooting self, in open play or from the spot, 1 from 3 in 25/26, and the 1 was quite ropey imo. But he was a designated taker in his England youth career, in the PL development league for Leicester, and he may feel he's now the natural choice. Nobody seems to record shootout stats, e.g. the Bromley miss, so his readily available club record (excluding shootouts) is 10 from 13. Believe that's about the average for designated takers, neither great nor bad. Hard to forget current form though!
