| End of Wardley Fight on 09:44 - Oct 26 with 1078 views | gainsboroughblue | I don't profess to being a boxing expert but I had seen several comments that the fight was stopped too early. When I got round to watching it this morning and saw how the end of round 10 and round 11 developed, I was baffled as to why that was the common take. Parker was just taking blow after blow and offering nothing. Proper brutal fight though. Credit to both. Incredibly strong men. Wardley has impressed me greatly. Having seen his fights, he looked like he was getting very close to his ceiling during that first Clarke fight, seemed too open for me, but wow, the boy has character and strength in abundance. | |

Me neither but it’s notable that the Parker camp themselves don’t seem to be contesting it, yet….

Your round 10 point is valid, the ref, as he should do, factored in round 10. Parker was lucky the ref didnt jump in then, but gave him the benefit. Once Wardly was throwing punch after punch in round 11 with nothing really coming back from Parker the ref will then factor in what happened in round 10. I cannot find the stat now, but it was showing this morning that Wardley landed 26 punches to Parkers 3 in that round 11. The ref is responsible for both boxers health, Parkers defence was gone.

Boxing is so subjective so there is no right or wrong answer really. That is by no means a criminal stoppage or anything that ruined the fight. To my mind, it is as tad early though, I dont think Parker looked completely out of it just that he couldn't find the moment to throw back which is always asking for trouble. So a tad early I would say but nowhere near the worst stoppage I have seen. I think Parker being massively up on the cards probably makes it a bit more controversial as well. Parker didn't seem too upset about it last night, seemed pretty graceful in defeat. SB

Look what Wardley did to Clarkes head lucky not to receive permanent injury the same may well have happened to Parker boxing has moved forward to try and protect people from dying.

How do you cope with analogy in general?

One of boxings good guys. Very gracious in defeat. I don’t think anyone would’ve blamed him if he had a slight moan given the general perception I’ve seen from in the sport was that it was a tad early. But I think he knows the consequences of not throwing back regardless of how good to carry on you are.
