Events you can't stand to watch again 21:38 - Oct 30 with 2054 viewsFrimleyBlue

Anyone got any sporting, or even general events which you can't stand watching again.

Now I don't mean bad things in general that took away lives, but things you know are probably really stupid to get worked up about when you see it again.

For me it's the 2021 F1 Season Finale when Lewis got screwed. Just caught a googlebox episode and they were watching it, omg it feels me with such anger at Masi. I just remember sitting up all night waiting for twitter to show the FIA did the right thing.

Anyway, thought i'd ask if anyone has anything similarly stupid like that.

BTW, i've never been able to rewatch that last lap ever since it happened.

We started......OK, lost poorly away first game of the season but absolutely destroyed Derby and looked like things might be Ok and then didn't win until said game against Spurs, suddenly found some form and then collapsed after Liverpool handed us a lesson at home in what's still probably the best display by an away team at Portman Road I've ever seen.

I could forgive the Liverpool loss, because as I recall they were absolutely on fire at that point, it was letting Chris Bloody Marsden of Southampton walk around half the team like he was Pele that upset me.

That Chris Marsden game was the only game I have ever walked out of early in disgust, it was criminal.

Or the WC90 semi, nor the WC98 2nd round v Argentina

The Maradona goal makes me laugh now, it's become a piece of footballing folklore almost.

But that Andy Brehme freekick in 1990 still haunts me.

Opposite stance to you on that, I loved it, having never been a Lewis fan. Thought it rather hilarious at the time. Happily watch it again.

Salah scoring against us a PR last season is my choice. Amazon Prime streaming channel constantly seem to show it as a prelude to the programme of choice coming on, despite it being 14 months ago now.

That always seemed a perfectly reasonable decision imo, the clerk of the course is always right, something you learn in junior formula, take Hamilton out of it and it wouldn't have received half the attention from UK fans it did as some great injustice.

But hey if your talking F1, how about when Senna died, or Ratzenbergers crash that led to his death and they pull him out of the car like a rag doll, and start CPR with his overalls covered in blood. Those were all broadcast live into millions of people's homes, puts just not winning a 7th championship because your team had you on the wrong tyres into perspective doesnt it.

I think with the benefit of hindsight that makes me more angry than Bolton. We KNEW Bolton would try and bully us out of a game and wilted feebly but that wasn't a new thing that season. Letting the journeyman's journey score in that fashion with our entire midfield saying 'after you sir' is what rankles most now.

We made Marsden look like Prime Messi when he scored about 4 goals his entire career

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

The Bradford fire. I was only 19 at the time and didn't have a care in the world. As I sat down for my tea waiting for the football results and thinking about who was out that night and would we get lucky it came on the tv . No time delay, just the horror that was unfolding live. It really hit me when suddenly you see a man walk from the back of the stand on fire from head to toe. To this day I can't watch programs about it for fear of that moment being shown again. I never went out that night.

Feel for you.

Was driving through Leeds at the time with car radio on, had to pull over, it was shocking enough just hearing the live audio commentary.

He already had 7 championships. That would have been his 8th.

If the other events are ones you'd wouldn't watch again. Then understanding so. But they have nothing to do with a racing director changing the rules because he wanted the fias "great white hope" to win a title over lewis. That quote will never be forgotten.

Am i right in my memories of that year, we were rubbish, then played spurs, won and went on a winning run, then lost to spurs and that was when we suddenly went bad again..

No, beat Spurs home and away that season, somehow

Coming out of an OU Saturday school after the final game of the 80-81 season to hear on car radio that Villa had pipped us to the title.

My groan of anguish garnered rather startled looks from other attendees who weren't exactly football supporters.

Still can't hear the name Withe without a grimace.
