Nunez , is just class at dead ball as we know he can be, but he also won the bsll bavk yiday, viuntjess tines hugher up the pitch. I think Nunez in at #10 and Taylor more forward in that midfield has taken some of the pressure off Hirst today, in terms of winning the ball and trying to make something happen further down the pitch. Having Nunez and Taylor in the team allowed Hirst to be where hes most effective, in the box!

Thought he looked sharper all round today, linked play really nicely at times and led the line well. Got very little change from the ref mind you.

Cheering him being taken off against WBA was very poor from those who did it.

| George Hirst appreciation post (n/t) on 17:53 - Nov 1 with 806 views | Rozz | Interesting one today. I thought he benefitted from the extra man we had in midfield and the energy of Taylor. His touch has been letting him down of late and the safety net of an extra player buzzing around him meant that we were much more effective at turning any loose balls into attack. Just listened to him on BBCRS talking about spending time with Egeli in training to understand the areas he will stand the ball up into. Can't fault that side today - the movement of his runs for both goals was great, creating 2 simple headers which he executed perfectly well. Also thought he could afford to be a bit more conservative in the press today with Nunez. It was noticeable in the first half that he didn't chase every single ball in his usual style. Whether he knew he was going to go longer into the game (with Azon missing) or whether it was Nunez's direct influence, he seemed to save the tank a bit today for getting into the best position possible when it mattered in front of goal. | | | |

Spot on. Not just the goals, his game was better overall.
