| Several plus points from yesterday 07:47 - Nov 2 with 1499 views | muccletonjoe | Perhaps the most important was our threat down the right was as incisive as the left. I would say it is an advantage to have another game on the heels of that one against Watford on Tuesday. It wasn't a particularly stamina sapping game yesterday , especially after 60 minutes , so the need for 6 or 7 changes has surely been negated. Seemed to be some flow developing yesterday, let it continue KM. | | | | |

You make a really good point about the right suddenly becoming dangerous at Loftus Road, whereas we've been a bit lopsided relying on Davis/Philogene for threat so far this season. Egeli really seemed to come of age, his skills, touch and injection of pace/intent was superb for the first goal. And he had lots of other moments like that. Their full back was having a torrid time. I'd keep the back 4 as is. But I wonder if Cajuste and Clarke will come in. Clarke came in quite late on Saturday. Which I'd be OK with. But to your point I really want to see Egeli again and not McAteer.

In too many recent games, especially away games, Egeli/McAteer has been standing on the right on their own in space and we've just kept playing the ball to the left

He's played 9 games of 13 6.74 FotMob rating Doesn't seem to get forward much wins over half his duels not that high on tackles Unleash the Egeli

Agreed re Egeli rather than McAteer, very much so. But to be fair to the latter, he did get a ball into the box late, albeit coming pretty quickly for Akpom. Hopefully Akpom can discover his shooting boots soon. The main point I wanted to make was re Watford. They had a great win last night, but they are a different proposition away from home. Bottom of the away table, 2 points from 6 games. That's less than half the PPG away of any team in the Championship. More cause for optimism.

Thought McAteer looked okay when he came on - got a pretty good shot off and his ball into the middle was excellent - needed to hit it that hard - I think Akpom saw it late but I think it actually went through his legs - he looked quite bemused about what had happened immediately afterwards.

^^^^This. Give Walle-Egeli the ball both quicker and more often and let him run at a full back. Far too often before today we've either ignored both him and McAteer in space or have delayed so long that they receive the ball not facing the full back but with a midfielder up their backside and the full back waiting behind the midfielder. Walle-Egeli can, as yesterday, go both ways, inside and outside and yesterday Furlong, for the first time I can remember, actually overlapped properly for Hirst's second. McAteer too successfully beat a man and put in a very dangerous cross and had a decent effort on target late on.

| Several plus points from yesterday on 10:27 - Nov 2 with 647 views | SmithersJones | Hirst’s second goal - while not quite being in Burns v Coventry territory - deserves a lot of acclaim. Walton and O’Shea knocking it round at the back, then Nunez and Egeli getting involved as we progress quickly up the right, before Furlong gets the cross in. A great example of what our style of play can lead to when we get it right. | | | |
| Several plus points from yesterday on 10:30 - Nov 2 with 622 views | thorpedo | I bet Egeli going on the outside in the 1st minute took the fullback by surprise - it certainly did me! First time I have ever seen him do it, can imagine the fullback was told that he likes to cut inside - then - bam! [Post edited 2 Nov 13:02]

Think we've shared the view cbower lately that we were very left sided. Far to much really. If we can utilise both sides. Teams will have to be careful of both thus allowing us more space in the middle. It will also keep them guessing. It may then start to free philogene more as they can't just double up on him as some quick play will get us I to the gaps Inside.

The incredibly subtle shoulder drop that had the full-back's weight on his wrong foot for a split-second long enough was just the kind of thing I had been looking forward to seeing.
