Does anyone know our best team.... 14:13 - Nov 8 with 826 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

with another 6 changes there will be people saying this is modern football, however, in my opinion, you should only be resting 2-3 players each game and not half the team.
I think the biggest concern after 12 games is that very few of us, including KM, really know our best team that performs as a team!
We should have enough in most teams we can put on the pitch to get results but we know that isn't always the case, lets hope KM has it right and the team leave everything on the pitch!

Always surprises me that people don’t seem to understand in 2025 that it is a squad game.

McKenna likes to rotate when we play three times in a week?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I'm not necessarily against rotation, but am I correct in recalling that we made fewer changes during three-game weeks the last time we were in the Championship?

If so, could it be that KMc has now got a different squad dynamic, with more players who'll only be happy if they're getting regular game time?

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

We don't have a single best team because it depends on the opposition and that changes every week.

That’s because we didn’t have strength in depth like we do now. Again, surprising in 2025 people don’t understand these basic principles.

This is the conundrum; we have a very good championship squad. But are less than the sum of our parts. We’ll need to figure it out soon.

Let’s see at 4:45 maybe?

7 points from 9, right now. Could be 10 from 12 by the end of the afternoon which might just suggest KmK has figured it out.

I think this is a good away side. Lots of physicality and hustle in that x1. We can keep it tight for an hour and do the rest afterwards.

I would say that our first choice team currently would be:

Palmer (Walton as he is unfit)

Furlong O'Shea Greaves Davis

Taylor Matusiwa

Eggeli Nunez Philogene

Hirst

Bearing in mind the form of Jack Clarke, the fact that Egeli is young and new to the Championship, Nunez's fitness history, the quality of Kipre vs Greaves, etc, it shouldn't be a surprise that team isn't starting every match.

Of the 6 changes today, one is the return of Davis, Nunez was rested and won't start 3 matches in a week, Egeli won't be put under that pressure either, Clarke deserves to be starting games, maybe Kipre has a knock and Greaves played well when coming on at left back, I guess McKenna felt Cajuste would offer more than Taylor does in the home match.

I get that it would be great to have the same 11 play breath-taking football every match and win the league, it isn't going to happen. We do need to start getting consistent wins, though.
