If the guy delivers half of what he says we'll be in a good place. I might be a bit simple, but despite his Brentesk way of speaking, there's something inspirational about what he says. I'm excited - again.

Spot on, this is really exciting. What really has grabbed my interest is completion of training facilities is now very much near future, and I loved the comment at the end…focus switches to Portman Road, and that stage really will be epic given the planning and quality that has gone into everything else to date.

See the other thread on this. It actually doesn’t need Ashton’s words. The camera shots actually tell the story of what’s happening with the club.
It looks to me like the owners are serious and are building something more than Clegg’s tin of own brand paint for the turnstiles or the portacabin makeover.

Yep. I get that Ashton can divide the crowd a bit, but what cannot be disputed is that he is providing genuine leadership, pulling the club forward, and transforming parts of the club that had been badly neglected under Evans.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Think it will be the extra tier and reroofing the West Stand first.
Hopefully this will be covered in the next fans forum. But, would it depend on the extra investment the club were after following that ‘leaked’ letter from a few months ago?

I still think Ashton is the most important part of the puzzle, yes we need the owners investment for sure but for me Ashton is the driving force of making this club great again.

“Tens and tens and tens of millions” being spent. To say we are worlds away from the Evans era is the ultimate understatement .
It might not all work out as planned but how exciting to see some vision and drive and energy behind our club.
The good thing about infrastructure investment and capital investment like this is they aren’t going to knock it down when it’s built. Nobody can guarantee premier league football, there’s a big chunk of chance when it comes to on field results, all we can do is control what we can to try to stack the odds in our favour. Improvements to the facilities and stadium and what not are within our gift to control though and should benefit the club and community for many years.

Watched this last night, well worth the sit down and whilst Ashton is typically Ashton, you do very much get a sense of authenticity in his approach.
Obviously the guy is under huge pressures from the ownership group, so you have to give the guy a lot of credit, him, the team he's built around Kieran and himself too.
The ground looks incredible and obviously the facility will be top tier stuff, that will undoubtedly attract players of all levels, Academy - First team (men and womens).
I like the comments about 'no excuses'. We had, by some distance, the worst training facilities in the PL last year according to Ashton (no reason not to believe that either) so our drop back out of the PL could be attributed to not having the same level of resources as our competitors, so they're removing all of the margins across the club.
It really is top level thinking.

We have had amazing short term success with Kieran and Mark and the ownership. But this video demonstrates the intention for the ‘Sustain’ element of the project that is so often the hardest part to achieve. Feels like genuine foundations for long term success.
What I enjoyed hearing most though was “It starts with the people”. And he alluded to some changes due to mindset issues. Maybe a “we’ve always done it this way” (which is a terrible mindset).
We of course all hope for promotion this year, but irrespective I feel it is a matter of time until we are an established premier league club!!

I definitely feel excitement after watching that.

Many people bemoaned the likes of Klug moving on etc, the dyers of the world too, the thing is, it's incredibly difficult to go in a new direction if you haven;t got everyone on board with it and maybe working with that mindset of we've always done it this way.
But it also shows the determination to become elite, from top to bottom, and if you remember dyer died on the humpreys hill, now we still don't know what the plan is with cam, but i can't say i see him as elite when he's 22 and not quite cracked it with the first team, now if that was dyers definition of elite and humpreys doesn't reach those heights, then you can kinda see why changes began to be made.

Yep, as supporters we often have an emotional reaction to news and heart strings for home grown players or long serving members of staff.
Ashton does come across as extremely professional and driven to succeed with Ipswich, his employer. His efforts are already bearing fruit, two promotions, Cat 1 academey, almost new training ground, attracting quality players etc Hopefully this trend continues.
