Way too much negativity! 18:04 - Nov 22 with 1357 viewsNutkins_Return

I haven't seen the game and I'm sure watching it if it was a bit passive I'd be a bit more annoyed then I am having not seen it. BUT this is the way we are as a team and building continuity and consistency. We are getting more consistent. We arent losing games and dropping as many points as the start of the season. We are clearly miles off the finished article but today is a day you look at it and say we were never losing it, we controlled it and we should have won and got a goal but we take the point and move on. We may get a hard fought win away and it all starts to balance out.

The frustration is Cov just keep winning even when not playing great and getting the run with sending off etc.

We are going to have to be patient with this team. It's obvious we have some talent but equally we aren't right yet.

Do you not trust McKenna though genuinely? I can't remember a manager I've trusted more.

He builds things and creates culture/standards/football teams. Is there a manager that can come in a get results quick in such scenarios - maybe. There are some expert quick fixers. McCarthy was one.

But I want someone who can build something long term and he's the man for the job.

I just cannot imagine how any Town fan could downvote this post.

From a squad personnel perspective we are not really building a long term team though, we are building a side that we hope can get us promoted and then it will be dismantled again, it would have to be, only a few of this squad would stand a chance. If we don’t get promoted a lot of the squad would also turnover with the loan players etc.

I do actually agree we'd need to chuck a lot at it. But I still think there is a spine there now in O'Shea, Greaves, will come good, Davis, Azor, Egeli and players who have the potential to make it like Philogene and possibly Clarke. Plenty that can be squad players: Hirst, Azon has potential, Szmodics, Mcateer has to improve but young enough etc.

We would have to add a lot of power and quality though you are not wrong there. But the base will be stronger then last time.

I think you've got that completely arse about face, to be honest.

We're building a squad which will have a much better chance in the PL than the last squad. If we just wanted to get promoted again, we'd have kept so much of the 2023-2024 squad together, but it wouldn't have been physical enough for the PL again.

Another fan who doesn’t go to games, why don’t you tell us what you think from watching the highlights later ?

So you can’t have an opinion unless you go to games?! Interesting..

We’re not building any consistency, we can barely put two good performances together.

We’re not building any continuity, we still don’t have any idea about our strongest selection.

We're averaging a shade under two points per game over a 10 game period since the close of the transfer window. If that isn't building consistency then I'm not sure what is.

not sure why people are down voting you, you raise some good points, and there is way too much negativity when HMS pee the league doesnt seem to floating that well down the river.

but we could easily have lost that game, there was a chance they had in the last 20mins I think, they knocked a ball in the box from a corner I think or crossed in from the corner, totally free header, totally unmarked, Walton was stuck on the other post, Kieffer would have buried it, and with a little more composure as I dont think their guy realised how much time he had or that the ball was getting to him, maybe he had a nose bleed from being so high up the pitch, theyd have gone 1 up, and we wouldnt have been able to come back from that, but he fluffed it and we somehow cleared it.

but they were creating more of those chances the longer the game went on, especially after Broadhead came on, and the concentration among our defenders was wavering a bit as they probably felt too comfortable.

so McKenna talks about the fine margins in games, Im not saying we were close to losing the game, but Wrexham definitely had a chance to score and win that game, which is I suspect how they win most of their games if thats how they play every week, even if the stats dont show it.

I think it's probably because maybe I came across as telling people how to think which wasn't my intention. Just giving my opinion. That was probably my mistake.

They had two attempts at goal in the entire game.
