What are people's thoughts on Sindre? 10:39 - Nov 26 with 2627 viewsMrPotatoHead

Been hit and miss so far, which I think was to be expected of a player so young. We shouldn't forget Omari had a similar start to life before he absolutely took off in the 2nd half of the season.

Good bits: Physicality, works hard, does his defensive duties, has shown glimpses of his quality. There was one moment in the 2nd half where he played a first time ball to Akpom I think, I loved how quickly he zipped that around the corner to him. Seems to have 2 decent feet, I'm desperate for him to score and I think he'll be a popular goalscorer when it comes.

Decision making questionable at times which is inevitable. I'd like to see him become more dangerous with his final ball which is something others have really improved in this environment. Burns, Omari, even Jackson to a lesser extent.

How are people feeling about him?

I think he looks great so far.

Strong, quick. But also has an eye for a pass and is not afraid try the difficult option.

I think any current deficiencies are mainly down to inexperience, and will be ironed out.

Very exciting prospect. Once he scores his first, hopefully a flurry of goals will follow.

I think he is going to be a real talent for us, it's very early days so far and like everyone else he is learning in this new squad. I actually like most of what I have seen from him, he clearly has a cracking delivery on him when he gets it right.

I think he could well be more suited to the 10 role going by what he said in his interview and the cameo last night, his flexibility is going to be very beneficial to us. As you have said his work ethic is very good and once that first goal arrives i think he will be up and away.

I agree, I think he's a very exciting prospect. He's got bags of talent and a lot of the bits you can't learn. Great experience for him to be playing regular football at this age and this level. Give him 12 months cutting his teeth and I think he'll be a real handful. Not sure what his best position is yet, I do think it'll be more central in time.

What do you see him as Frimmers? An out and out 9? There's a huge amount of value in old school number 9's and feels like there's a real scarcity of them at the moment, hence Delap having his pick. Its a big IF but a 20 year old Egeli scoring 10 goals in the Premier League next season probably makes him worth £50m.

Not me you asked but I can see him becoming a 10. He's got all the attributes for it.

Given his age and new country, new system, new teammates - excellent.

Makes a lot of things look very easy against experienced, established Championship players.

A few rough edges to iron out and decision making is sometimes good, sometimes just a little iffy, but he's always calm and unfazed by anything that doesn't come off and his underlying self-confidence is (rightly) high.

He's going to be one helluva player by the end of this season, I think.

Omari trajectory and then some.

I'm caught between him becoming a Kane, that forward who can drop, play, pass and score in an all round game.

But im also curious if he might become a de bruyne type instead behind a striker

He may not have scored for town yet, but he's banged some lovely goals in for the u21s and his previous side, but im more impressed by his passing ability and the way he's built at just 19, he's strength is gonna be a massive part of his game.

I do feel we need to get him centrally, I don't feel we are getting the most out of him on the right.

He's a definite 10 technically gifted, but with an added edge of physicality. Could see him being absolutely phenomenal with a Delap like battering ram doing the hard yards for him and making space.

I'd be really surprised to see him go from talented right winger to full on 9. But maybe, who knows.

I agree with that, and think in time he's destined to play centrally. He doesn't cut the figure of a wide man to me but I think it's good for him now, good for his development and all minutes are good minutes for him.

I can see him as a 9. He's got 2 good feet, he's big, strong, and looks decent in the air. I'd quite like to see him start there in the cup.

For a kid in a new country think he's done well and is looking better week on week. Sure he'd have liked a couple of goals and more assists by now but get the impression once he gets going on that front they'll start to flow.

Ridiculous really that he was getting stick after the Wrexham game when he was the only one looking to show a bit of individualism (which everyone was crying out for). Furthermore shame to see the thickos banging on about his transfer fee and using that as a stick to beat him with as if it's his fault the club paid that much.

Once Burns is back I'd be getting him and McAteer sharing the RM role and getting Walle Egeli into that 10 position - can see why he's out wide for now but looks every inch a central forward to me.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Lads a wonderful footballer, got it all
settling in nicely now seems confident on the ball, willing to get involved
perhaps still a little unsure as to his role in the team
all very similar to Omari's progress but the Viking is physically stronger and his potential is of the scale
Only gonna get better and better

can we have some more like him please?!

The most important thing is to have impossibly high expectations of him so we have a shoe-in scapegoat ready for when McAteer finds favour among the Town divbase.

So, I'm gonna say he's definitely a better prospect than Haaland and will probably be worth more than Isak next year if he continues on his current trajectory.

Yep. He's raw at the moment and learning his trade in a difficult league but once he reaches his full potential I think there will be a bidding war and we'll be glad we saw him in a Town shirt.

And seeing as we didn't get him from Chelsea maybe we'll get to keep more of the profits (although who could begrudge his parent club a payday).

They've already had one to be fair!

I'm not too interested in his worth, I just want to see him score 100 Premier League goals for us over the next 8 years and write his name in Ipswich history. Not much to ask.

From the 1st game he played for us, seemed so obvious his natural position would be the 10. He’s simply wasted out wide.

Can only assume KM doesn’t feel he’s ready to take on that responsibility yet as that role is so important to how we play, particularly with the press.

Hopefully get Burns back to give us two quick options wide right, move Sindre into the middle and we’ll then see the RW be more involved, creating chances like we’re used to with Chaplin / Burns.

Looks capable of being truly elite to me. He's developed a lot in the space of 4 months and it's very exciting to see how far he can go.

Last 6 or 7 games he's been excellent but should have scored several times. If he solves that then we'll have a superstar on our hands.

He’s nailed on to be a top player. Not only is he very young, but he’s new to this country and part of a newly assembled squad. He's the best player of his age we’ve had at the club in years.

I would play him as much as possible, fitness permitting, because he could well make the difference for us this season, fitness permitting.

He is a very good player, his vision and movement on and off the ball is superb, he attacks space very well, although not always spotted by others, he will get a lot lot better with more game time as well.

I would like to see him start interchanging with the front men, Hurst / Azon / Nunez drag defenders wide and Sindre moving into the space in the middle.

It has been great watching his huge development in a very few Town games thus far.

I think he’s been ok so far. Some good, some bad.

I like that he’s not taken much time at all to be reliable off the ball. He presses well, he’s strong for his age, can play 90 and still make an impact late on in the game. I like his crossing, he’s strong should’ve had a couple more assists maybe off some of his crosses if our strikers could score. He isn’t afraid to shoot which I also like.

What I want to see improved. I do think he’s a bit easy to defend against atm. The only player he has really given big trouble was the QPR RB who was only a kid himself and I’m not sure has been seen since. I think him moving to the 10 would help because atm I think defenders are just happy to show him inside a way from goal and block the shot. His finishing has been disappointing because that’s a big part of his game and he has squandered some decent chances.

Overall I’m positive, I think he has a lot of developing to do and I don’t actually think he’s playing in his best position. Might be a guy who really comes in to his own February to March a bit like Omari did. If we were to go up he does strike me as the sort of player who would then benefit from a full season loan as well.

Just let him develop. He can handle the physicality and is learning the game whilst putting in a shift. Some are absolutely desperate for him to do something amazing so they can put him up there as another cheat code with Cajuste .... but why not let him quietly improve.
