There have been a few. But very few.

If you take the 10% of ST holders figure from Ashton, that equates to 2,200 seats.

Spread that across the stadium in odd pockets of one or two, especially when surrounded by occupied seats, and I imagine they'll be very difficult to pick out.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Every mid week game has had quite a lot of empty seats in the central sections. With very long term season ticket holders not making the trip.

I wonder where I am in the 6000 waiting list.

I might have a sniff of getting in come the 2032 season! By that time, having to renew the membership every season, I will have spent almost the cost of a ST just to remain on the waitlist!

Quite happy for regular no-shows to get booted, Mr Ashton.

It would be interesting to know what that season ticket percentage was in the last days of the Mick period!

South stand lower has had many noticeable gaps during most home games

I am firmly of the opinion that if you want a season ticket you should have had one when we were sh1t, and if you didn’t then you’ve got no right to take somebody else’s

Is it still a thing to use someone’s ticket when they can’t go,or are you supposed to sell it back to the club now ?

If it’s the second one then the powers that be have made it to complicated.A few years back I’d often use someone’s season ticket for a fee.

That way the empty seats have someone using them and everyone is happy.

I think that the resale platform is, officially, the club's preferred route, followed by gifting it to the foundation.

Then you've got gifting it to a friend/family member, followed by selling it privately.

I think the only one that the club would get snippy at, if they chose to do so, would be the final option.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

I can’t believe there are so many on the waiting list, being lazy and not reading everything on ticket sales is that the only way you can go now by having a season ticket? You can’t pay on the gate anymore I guess?

Do they sell any tickets up to the game ?

I'm pretty sure that there are a few thousand tickets available to members; I don't know if reduced demand has removed the need for a ballot this season.

I don't think (m)any get through to general sale these days though.

Most home games this season have got through to general sale. There are currently tickets available for the next home game Coventry.

Usually up with the Gods and with a pillar in your face but yes, if you want to get a ticket to a home game it's usually possible in this league. Maybe barring Nodge or the final game with promotion in the balance.

My son has a ST but he’s away at Uni so misses plenty of games. I either upgrade it to an adult ticket and go with a mate or put it on the resale platform. If it were an adult ticket I can’t see the Club objecting if something other than the named person was using it

This is what the rules say.

"The Club permits the Holder of this Season Ticket card to allow another supporter to use this card and its associated seat if they are unable to attend a match only upon receiving permission from the Club. The other supporter using this card must be of the same price band (concession) category as the Holder of the card."

When any of my friends don't go, they will lend their ticket to a friend or relative, but they've never sought permission because I don't think they know they need to.

On the rare occasions I don't go, I have in the past telephoned the club and they have issued an e-ticket which I can forward to a friend. But there is now an option on the website (as well as the resale option) to forward a ticket directly to someone listed as friend or family. I believe this enables a price adjustment, if the recipient is in a higher price band.

Interestingly, now that I have reached 65, my season ticket causes a red warning to flash up to check age at the turnstile.

Sadly no-one has so far questioned that I don't look 65.

I don't think people ask the club's permission because it's a ridiculous thing to ask, buried in t&c's. Rightly so.

I think people are being a bit naive on this. The club stand to make money from the mark up ST to match day prices whilst demand stays frothy.

I have a feeling this aspect of the rules may have changed from when I last looked , but as you say it is a bit of a nonsense.

And as well as the reason you give, I also wonder if there is an aspect of trying to keep those on the waiting list on board.

Think we're at the stage now where getting a ticket is mostly straightforward if you pay for membership, and there's a decent chance for the general sale crew too. Ipswich fans with Supporter IDs will probably be able to buy a Cov ticket online an hour before the game should they be inspired to.

But not for Norwich obvs. Won't be the case if there are big games at the end of the season. And choice of where in the ground isn't great, lots restricted view - especially if needing a few together. And it's much more expensive that a ST if wanting to go to most games.
