That’s the nicest thing I can say about tonight. Blackburn fans were far from magnanimous and all ten of them have a weird chip on their shoulder. It was strange they were calling the ref a cheat when he wasn’t booking their players etc. The most controversial thing for me, was from my vantage it looked like the bloke threw himself down knowing Matusiwa was gonna catch him.

But trivial things aside. That was poor. We have been poor for some time now. If McKenna isn’t losing people he’s not taking them along for the ride anymore it seems. The professor has become Frankenstein. Assembling expensive parts that don’t look right, don’t move right and seem to harm the team as a whole as much as frighten the opposition.

What was telling for me was that we made two subs at half time which were tactical. We then threw everything at it to mug a team of a point we should beat. Had Blackburn not got complacent the talented kid would not have had the chance to punish them with that. Secondly, after one too many close escapes, Walton went to route one and we hoped to win a second ball.

The players who seem to play all the time are Walton (Palmer) O’Shea, Leif and Matusiwa. None of them have a regular partner by their side or man ahead of them to progress play. It feels very much like McKenna has been given far too many players with quality and not the balance of qualities to make us a team.

It was dead in that away end tonight and not because several people blagged another point. There was little belief at what we were seeing or that we’d get much at all. Even if we do get on track and make the autos, it’ll require massive churn and a bit of luck to make us viable in the Prem. But that’s a problem for tomorrow’s TWTD, tonight we can all sleep on whatever that was and hope sweeter dreams find us all.

Only 45-50 mins for me on a clear run. I did get down to my last 20miles of petrol though so that was exciting.

"The professor has become Frankenstein". Very good.
We were told we were recruiting more pace, more physicality after the Premier League experience. We patently haven't. Blackburn were quicker, stronger and hungrier.
We are backwards, sideways and constantly recycling. It's dull football. It's too slow in execution. Move the ball with more tempo and intensity and you'll get more from the crowd.
The one positive?

McKenna's interview post match. He doesn't throw anyone under a bus but for quite possibly the first time he states quite clearly it was just not good enough in any aspect.

Partnerships. Stop with the constant changes. 2 or 3 at most. Young was dreadful. McAteer ffs - look among the line! Hirst has cement in his boots. McKenna doesn't really fancy Azon does he? Akpom offers so little. Walton does not look comfortable from corners. Actually, we look awful defending corners full stop.
The Professor has become Frankenstein indeed!

Has Azon done anything to warrant being fancied?

He's got in lots of good positions but failed to execute. Could easily have 6 or 7 goals but he has just 1. His all round game, despite a good work ethic, isn't good enough for me, especially as his finishing is not clinical. He's no Marcus Stewart!

That might be the bigger problem there, he works hard, he gets chances but he is not taking them

His record historically isn't prolific but is still young, playing in a foriegn league

He is likeable but was he the right choice for us?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I just think Azon and Akpom are two different profiles of players (Szmodics when fit) who we don’t seem to give the ball to much, and when we do it’s sort of a “go on then” type mentality. So many times players are an outlet with two or three pinning them in, and we just watch it happen and wonder why the possession turns over or the game stops.

The front 4 are not remotely working as a unit, are they? And that was horribly highlighted last night, with no connections between them at all.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

The front 4 or 5 change every game. See myself I would have bought Burns clone of a player till Burns is fit we have two wingers who always want to come inside and one wide man in McAteer who offers will I just dont know. Eglie for me best signing we have made and should be central.

I dont think our style of football is dull but it certainly is at the moment. When it works it's a thing of beauty but it hasn't been for a long time. Our passing was atrocious last night and that has to click for it to work. The front 4 are talented but no teamwork. Its so frustrating.

I think we all want KM to select his best team and stick with it making fewer changes to the starting line up. Only when it's working can he afford to make 5+ changes every time.

For the first time last night I wondered if he was right for the job and I feel dirty for thinking that. I dont think we'll get anything from Coventry but let's have a better performance.

I think as far as Azon is concerned there's every reason the club should revue his terms of the loan and see if they can come to a deal to return him to his club so as to make space for someone to come in to the team in January.
It's sad really as I am sure most fans would love to have seen another Pablo. But unfortunately Azon looks slow, doesn't attack the box and the only goal he has scored was a nod in.
I think defensive wise Greaves should play regularly and when we go a goal down with few minutes on the clock why not give Kipr'e a go up top as he used to play centre forward. Can't be no worse than what we currently have.

No but I did think Mcateer and Akpom both did the right things last night. But as a unit it just changes all the time doesn’t it?
