One of the few games I've missed as a season ticket holder.

Can remember going in the Curve bar around 3ish (it was a 5.30 kick-off for Sky) and there were some light snow flurries.

Came out a couple of hours later and it was a winter wonderland.

The pitch was playable, so went ahead, we played well and won.... one of the few times under Keane.

Got home though, and had to leave the car in the pub car park as I couldn't get up the hill our road was on.
And was supposed to be banger racing the next day - needless to say, that was cancelled.

I remember the ground staff coming out during the 2nd half to sweep the pitch, with one of them writing 3-0 in the snow in front of the away fans....!

It was the most underrated Suffolk kind of weather I'd even seen. I'd almost never seen that much snow come down so quickly without a mountain within miles. Weird scenes.

I made the mistake of wearing Converse Allstars to the game, and there was a foot of snow by the time I got off the train afterwards. My feet are still thawing out I think.

The game was a bit of a joke, but it was good fun.

Yea came out the cricketers to snow everywhere getting home 20 miles after the game was fun, a beautiful white wonderland.

Cracking player, that Shane O'Connor.

In the snow.

Would have had a stellar career if he had just made the move to Greenland.

(Have I got the right game?)

If only Famous Roy was as good at managing in rain, wind and dry weather as he was snow.

Lovely pressers though.

I was flying the flag at this for my 6th birthday. One of my first Town games. Got a whole catalogue of me and my mates doing it. Good times

I remember going across the bridge at Manningtree on the train and the train windows being frozen over as the snow hit them.

After the game I got stuck at Colchester North until a nice train driver agreed to stop at all the stations between there and clackers.

“I go skiing in snow, not playing football.” RIP Sven.

Keane: We Adapted Better to the Conditions 18th Dec 2010 21:25
Blues boss Roy Keane felt his team settled into the snowy conditions better than Leicester after Town’s 3-0 victory over Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Foxes. Eriksson was less than impressed that the match went ahead in conditions he believed were more suited to skiing. 68

I had been in town from lunchtime but as the day went on, it looked less and less likely the game would go ahead. The snow was still tipping it down around 4pm (kick off was 5.30 I believe?) and my friends and I made the executive decision to just stay in the pub.

To our amazement, we looked up at the TV to see the players emerge from the tunnel.

I missed that one. That day I had picked up a Porche Boxster I had bought. On the way home the weather worsened , I spun the car in my lane and it went backwards through a convenient hole in a hedge. No damage, but I thought that was enough driving cars for the day. So I gave the match a miss. Think it was on the telly anyway.
