Yes. We're probably not going to find a better option. If we could get Hackney (yes I know its 99% not going to happen) or similar it would be different but of the realistic options he would be a good one. I'm sure he would understand O'Shea is captain and be ok with that.
He would be a short term fix but that is what we need. We just need to get over the line. Bring him back with a decent promotion bonus until the end of the season if he will come. Hopefully one last medal for him and a proper send off from the Town fans.
Would you re-sign Sam Morsy in the January window?? on 13:33 - Dec 18 by J2BLUE
Is there any evidence of that?
I'm not dropping anyone in it, but I've had it confirmed to me by a member of this forum who is about as reliable as it comes, concerning behind-the-scenes stuff at the club.
Definitely not. He's 35 and hasn't played competitive football in 7 months. He won't play regularly which is one of the reasons he left in the first place and he's made some slightly salty comments since departing, which has at least singed his bridges. Also parachuting him in to provide leadership rather undermines those who have stepped up (however effectively or not) to replace him. It's a Football Manager signing not one for the real world.

what salty comments??? are you mistaking him for Woolfy?, he's just turned 34, contract to end of season and then put him on the coaching staff
Absolutely not. His legs had gone last season in the pl. And he wouldnt get in the team now anyway. Much more important positions to sign some1,for than the midfield.

This isn't Football Manager, mate.
what salty comments??
so we wouldn't be able to sign him?? how on earth does that make it Football Manager??, hes free, knows the squad, the manager didn't want to lose him in the summer, knows the club, yep sounds well out of our reach.
Get the whole upset the leadership team etc, but I'm sure he's well respected and they are professional enough.
I don't think it will happen, but is nowhere near beyond the realms of possibility despite the crap you're coming out with.
I would imagine he'd be a pale shadow of the player he once was.
Why ruin his legacy? And he'd be coming into a new changing room where he'd be unlikely to get the same level of respect from these players. There's hardly any left from the promotions team.
We've presumably got a professional recruitment team....so why not source a younger version of Morsy?

In an ideal world absolutely and should have been done before the window shut in August, poor to leave us with just Matusiwa in that role

because he played for his Kuwaiti club
Well, we could sign him, but we couldn't add him to our squad & play him unless there was space in our 25 mans quad. So if we were going to sign him, I think we'd have done it by now.
Fantastic captain and absolute dominant authority in CM gave us two years of glory leading brilliantly for McKenna on the pitch. I'm going to call him a club legend, actually, he was that much of a force. But we have to move on now, and while I'm sure he'd do a great job for us this season he would (unintentionally) undermine Dara, and he wouldn't be up to next season in the PL.

He would be if we were to be in the Championship next season. It's a yes please from me. We miss him massively.
