Has anyone done this before, and can give me some clarity on the dress code?

I've booked a couple of tickets for the Blackpool game as a Christmas present, but the dress code is disconcertingly vague. It states smart/formal with the expected list of 'no go' items, but doesn't really clarify on jacket/tie, and the ticket office didn't know either!

Is the club still fairly old school when it comes to the interpretation of smart/formal; requiring a jacket and tie?

I don't mind either way, but it would be handy to know where we stand.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

Dungarees and a straw hat will be fine.

yes done a few times
i've never worn a jacket or tie, others have, but went in smart shirt, smart trousers (no jeans) and shoes (not trainers)
might be worth double checking with mark ashton's pa or exec assistant

Just the budgie smugglers, a sombrero and a pair of mirror shades and you’ll be fine.

should add that if you have a personal invite from chairman/ceo then that would be jacket/tie as it's sit down meal with the top brass from both sides

the premier lounge/directors lounge is just smart formal

Shirt with collar, trousers and suit shoes minimum.
Don't need a jacket and tie. You'll wear a coat anyway.

I would take a tie with me, just in case.

I was the only one who was wearing a suit and tie. It's smart casual, which excludes jeans and trainers, although your jeans might cost more than my suit.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

You only need to see the people who go to the races to know that a shirt and tie does not mean decorum.

Smart casual and must wear formal shoes

Don't forget to carry a cup of coffee at all times aka Ashton style.

That is, of course, traditional for the FA Cup 3rd round, and definitely the way to go.
