Should we finish top two 12:37 - Dec 24 with 751 views

If it's confirmed at home as it was last time round, will we be celebrating quite as rigorously as we did before? Or is it going to be more of a 'phew, that's a relief'?

I'm thinking if we are champions then yes going all out again is warranted. We've not done that in my lifetime. If it's a 2nd place finish, rather than the whole pitch-invasion thing a polite applause, moderate cheering and a some high-fiving might be enough. After all, we have a better idea now what might come next.

If I ever get to the point where I react to a promotion with a polite round of applause, something has gone seriously wrong! It might not be quite the high of 23/24 but still a moment to be savoured.

You're not clear where you stand on this, but for me, anyone of the opinion that the correct response to promotion is :

"a polite applause, moderate cheering and a some high-fiving might be enough"

are the type of entitled, neo-fan that we've got far too many of now.

If we get promoted, even through the playoffs, the players deserver a massive celebration from the home crowd.

I can’t see it being as emotional as last time. That was just huge for so many reasons. We didn’t expect it, but the reality dawned that we might just do it - and then we actually did it - almost the impossible dream.

If we go up this season it will be more than a polite applause, but it won’t be the utter jubilation and dream come true it was before. There will be a sense of ‘job done, let’s have a party, but now let’s make a better fist of trying to stay up than last time’.
