Be an interesting post match reaction.... 14:54 - Dec 26 with 886 viewswaveneyblue

In isolation a point away to a play off rival cant be dismissed, but a real feeling that we shouldve got all three. Millwall are hard working and solid but not a lot else.

This will be one that divides the group even more.

Play nicely kids, im off for beers.

Not our worst recent away performance, we already knew we struggle to break down deep-lying defences and we lack a striker and today merely served to emphasise that. Despite that I think we did enough to win a game. A frustrating afternoon but not a terrible point.

An away point at a playoff contender and a clean sheet too.

Which is fine.

Millwall have got a huge injury crisis in central midfield (they basically played without one today) and missing Azeez their most dangerous player. They were absolutely there for the taking but as usual, we can't break down a stubborn side.

It's funny because in between games I feel really positive about how the season is going, expect top 2, then watching the games I remember we are bang average with so many players that are nowhere near the value we paid for them.

I thought it was fine. Controlled most of the game, had chances to create very good chances without ever quite getting there.

Tough game, shortly before an even tougher one

Problem is, I’ve heard in isolation every other game.

I think in isolation the result is fine but in the context of the game it is 2 points dropped, we caught Millwall at a time they are hit with injuries and out of form and should have come away with 3 today.

A missed opportunity to solidify third place and maybe kick on. Just feel that play off form rather than top 2 form continues. Nice to keep a clean sheet. Second half a disappointment as I thought the first half showed promise.

Seriously? Against an injury hit Millwall with zero fit midfielders, missing their best player. We had a hundred million pounds of players on the pitch. The manager paid handsomely. The bar amongst some supporters is very very low.

This is a very poor result.

Wasn't a great performance. Whether it was a good point will depend on the results over the next few days.

If Boro lose today and then we beat Coventry it will be a very good point.

If Boro win and we drop points at Cov while they pick up points again it will be a poor result.

Truly impaired.

Yes. It wasn't a hard fought draw under the cosh away at a flying Millwall side, which we would all acknowledge as a good point, it was failing to win against a side we caught during an injury crisis and out of form. Not at all good enough from Ipswich.

Considering we are chasing and more than a game back the only concern needs to be ourselves at the moment. They had players missing and it wasn’t good enough for a team with aspirations of the top two, just like a lot of the away performances.

Gaining a point on Boro would be a good day.

Is it likely? Probably not.

Start worrying about us.

We won’t go up automatically if we can’t string multiple wins together regularly.

Context is important. Our results are most important but nothing wrong with hoping Blackburn do us a favour.

Yes, the context is we were going in 5 points behind against a team missing starters and need to start putting runs together, not looking around the league in December for favors.

The responses to Phil’s report says it was a defeat in all but name. Squad cost trillions, they didn’t do this, didn’t do that. McKenna didn’t do x, should have done y…. waaaaa.

Sorry, I’ll watch the game later but at the moment the stats and a point away at a top six side tell me it could have been worse.

The nappy boys will be happy so this place, which has been pleasant for a week or so, is off limits.

Just had a couple of hours over pint or two with my mate who is dealing with some bad stuff, as is another acquaintance along with several posters on here. That’s truly important stuff.

The football club (which as much to me as anyone) might not have the best team we’ve ever seen, but this season or more likely next we will be fine. I know perspective is a dirty word. Outmoded; want it now, people to blame, the scapegoat list, give em hell, are entitled after spending £500m etc etc.

But we are not entitled to anything.

Enjoy the next few days, all and just remember Bill Shankly’s famous quote was wrong.

You are a joyless sod at times.

It's not about 'looking for favours', it's just the ages old football fan trait of following other results and hoping they go your way.

I know you're gloomy about the season, but it isn't compulsory to snuff out enthusiasm wherever you see it!

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

That 90 minutes has really snuffed out enthusiasm I’m afraid!
