A break needed. 00:04 - Dec 30 with 2306 viewsWallingford_Boy

What a performance tonight, outstanding.

Yet coming on here, which I’ve been doing for longer than most has taken the edge off the victory.

Phil, Gav and the team, this is a fantastic website, but a few are making it less welcoming and are jumping on every post that they don’t agree with.

A break is needed.

Uppa Towen!

RIP Sir Bobby

Interesting rewriting of history.

What you actually mean is you didn't agree with Libero, jumped on his post, called him a troll and then accused people of being negative.

Seems the only person doing what you're accusing others of doing is yourself.

Enjoy the break.

Yes, you have been coming on here a long time.

But the fact of the matter is that had we drawn or lost this forum would have been totally unbearable for a couple of days. From the misery brigade we’d have heard everything from £150m wasted to taxi for McKenna. But unlike yourself, has there been a hint of ‘well done’ or anything positive? No. Zippo.

The people who are posting tonight are those that post win, lose or draw. Yes, the entitled are entitled to their entitled opinion. I just wish they were a little more balanced about it - but it’s a free country. Up to them what they gain pleasure from, whether it’s a Leicester victory or anything else.

Pi5s off mate. Why are you calling me out randomly for no reason whatsoever in a thread I've not posted in?

Most of my posts tonight have been nothing but positive and I even replied to one of your posts praising it earlier. What exactly is your problem. Utter idiot

Honest question: what is your gripe with Bounceback? I think it is perfectly fine for a fan to support two teams. Is that what you get upset about? Just seems like there is a lot of sniping in their direction, and I haven't seen any really 'hot takes' or trolling behaviour from said poster.

The first game my younger brother went to was Ipswich v Portsmouth. He was 7 years old. He decided on the day (due to preferring their colour kit) to support Portsmouth and has done so for over 30 years now - Premier League to League 2, come what may. But he also loves to see Ipswich do well, because they are his home town team. I don't understand why some people get so touchy about this kind of thing!

I honestly don't know mate. I'd have thought having a 'neutral' with no ties to Ipswich support your team (and I've spent money going to games, got a replica kit) would be a positive thing but some idiots on here use it as a reason to take out their frustrations. I've noticed the same happens to Frimley Blue who seems a totally reasonable poster but constantly has the same group of basically bullies looking to shoot him down at every opportunity. Pathetic behaviour from presumably blokes north of 40 years old.

Anyway it doesn't bother me usually but being called out completely out the blue (no pun intended) by idiots like that is somewhat grating.

Appreciate you taking the time to post that, thank you ☺️ for the life of me cannot understand why you'd choose Pompey over Ipswich but each to their own!!

😂 Believe me, he has taken a lot of stick from the family about choosing them, but we also respect him for being an 'all-weather' supporter. That, at the end of the day, is a true supporter. So respect to him!

I, too, have a lot of sympathy with Frimmers. Yes, he had a spell where his posting was contentious, but he is not the same poster now. Unfortunately, though, there are some that seem to be waiting, all too ready to pick apart his every post, criticise it and tell him he is going back to the 'Old Frimmers'. It's borderline bullying, IMHO.

But what's new? I posted on this forum for over 10 years before I dared 'come out' as female. And still I experience the odd discriminatory post, from time to time.

It's unfair and judgemental.

It's a real blight on the forum. A small clique of posters who seem to be on here 24/7 who seem to make it their shared mission to shut down any opinions they don't like as well as posters they don't like.

A shame as 90% of the people on here are really sound and offer great insight. Frimley being one of good posters. I'm sorry you have been given abuse for being s woman, as if that makes your opinion any less valid, it's really pathetic playground stuff.

The vast majority of decent posters, and the brilliant Phil, Gav and Mark at TWTD are what keeps this website as enjoyable as it is. And whilst the percentages work in our favour, we will always keep going and keep contributing.

The internet turns a small group of people very strange and they act out of character. And for a tinier minority, they are just unpleasant individuals who enjoy using the internet to be vile to others.

Keep killing with kindness! 😁

I've bitten back on a few occasions online and regretted it. When I find myself acting differently online to how I would in real life, I take a day or two offline. It works well.

Whether it be here, Facebook, Insta, whatever. Social media can occasionally drag you down into a place where you don't recognise yourself.

It's good to be aware of that and come up for air.

Wally's posts on a recent thread have since been deleted, but he did cross a line earlier.

I'm not trying to kick him while he is down, by any means, we have all been guilty of posting silly things in the past.

The fact he has chosen to take a break is good, if he feels it is necessary.

It's the end of the year. Lots of us got here by the skin of our teeth. 2026 is a chance to draw a line and make better choices. I know I have to make a tonne of better ones this year, personally.

As a rule, it’s really best not to use that sort of language towards somebody that you wouldn’t use to their face.

I haven’t been directly abusive to you and I don’t accept it towards me, whether I am right or wrong - the latter of which I often am.

Churchman, the Leicester comment seemed pretty loaded. You haven't said why you find the need to bring it up. What is your gripe? Again, genuine question, not trying to be argumentative.

Also, Bounceback did make the comment that they needed to not respond negatively to posts and be better going forward.

Edit: the 'idiot' comment was unnecessary, though. I agree.

The Leicester reference was unnecessary, cheap and uncalled for on my part and had he simply asked a question or been polite, I’d have amended /retracted it.

Why refer to it? Because of his posting past, albeit not recently. I should not have done (alcohol happiness?), but regardless I do not accept rudeness from anyone.

The irony is that Mrs Cs family come from Leicester, are all LCFC supporters. I’ve been to loads of their games over the years and not just to see ITFC.

Good of you to declare it.

'Alcohol happiness' has surely made many of us post stuff without thinking.

Silly of us all to get our knickers in a twist over online comments, really.

I hope you have had a restful and positive holiday break. Here's to a happy and fruitful new year, on and off the pitch!
