What's annoying is Betho had looked like a proper test match player up to getting out Early wickets are always key with those kookaburra balls, once they soften up, they get pretty easy to bat against The feeling is the pitch is going to get flat as well

Frustrating cos we have the batters to excel, when they're not trying to score every ball. Bit more measured today and we've done well.

I think you have misinterpreted how I have worded that one but but 3 probably is too high for sure I can't think of any other 3's knocking about, Dan Lawrence has been unlucky but I assume he doesn't bat that high for Surrey. Could you drop Crawley to three and find another opener? You have players like Muyeye, perhaps they'll have another look at Sibley or Hameed possibly, Compton at Kent, someone will emerge. Edit: Tribe in the Lions, where does he bat? Rew looks like the next hot prospect but us a keeper. [Post edited 4 Jan 9:22]

There was a town flag near me (Bay 13). Had "Suffolk Barny army" on it and a town badge.

Last thing you want at 3 is a dasher who nicks off before getting in most innings. 3 needs to be reliable when one or both openers go early.
| Anyone following the 5th test? on 11:05 - Jan 4 with 892 views | RIPbobby | I have watched a lot of the series and think England have done ok. Should have won the first test to be honest. Been tight in most others. I think the Aussie bowlers have edged us. Not much between the batting sides. | | | |

I suspect we will have a dash. Probably set a target of 25.

Truely pathetic. Why did I even bother to stay up? I fear this will be all over today.

No England first wicket partnership has gone beyond ten overs and 5 times have lost a wicket in the first over. What a shambolic tour this has been.

Apparently Neser has faced more balls than Duckett but batted 5 less times. Who knows? This might be Duckett's day. I won't see it though. 10 more mins then up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire.

Competitive but self-destructive yet again. A bit more fight than Tests 1-3 but this has been a real failure of a tour, largely for self-inflicted reasons.
