| Late Milwall winner on 17:22 - Jan 4 by GlasgowBlue | I'm pretty certain that to a man (and woman) all board members would have prefered Boro, Preston and Millwall to have lost. |
Obviously we didn’t want Boro winning. Not sure the rest of the results have much bearing or are of much interest though. Half the league are a win away from being in or very close to the play offs. With Southampton, Leicester and Birmingham being well off the pace, Boro are the only side capable of properly challenging for top 2 IMO. [Post edited 4 Jan 18:01]

| Late Milwall winner on 17:56 - Jan 4 with 440 views | Pinewoodblue | The biggest problem about today’s events is fitting in a rearranged game against Portsmouth. It should be remembered that Portsmouth have still not fixed a date for their home game against Blackburn postponed in November due to flood light failure. Presumably rearranging that game takes priority. There is also a risk of games being rearranged due to FA cup participation. If town, & or, Hull win next Saturday our game for 14th February gets moved, usually to the mid week before or after the original date. It could quite easily be March before we play at Fratton Psrk. | |

| Late Milwall winner on 17:28 - Jan 4 by positivity | 2 games ago, a lot of people were predicting soton to finish above boro. plenty of form swings to come, let's just win our games, carry on collecting 2 points a game and we should be fine. |
You and I can have zero influence on our future results. But as members of a football discussion board we can discuss which other teams results are good or not. It's no biggie. Just discussion. It would have been better in the short term for the teams in the top 6 who won to have lost today. That's all. [Post edited 4 Jan 18:05]

agreed (apart from preston, i'm quite pleased they slowed brizzle's momentum, rate them as more likely challengers)

| Late Milwall winner on 17:33 - Jan 4 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | I just said that’s the annoying part of if, the disruption less training days and travel. I also said we have the squad to be able to hopefully cope. I had us winning quite comfortably today, so it would has been nice to keep the wins coming but we will have to go again in February or whenever. I bet Ashton and KM are pissed. |
They've got the day off now so if KMc and Ashton do get on the sauce then fair enough. On a more serious note today was an inconvenience, especially for the fans who were on their way but at least they got a bit of notice always worse when you travel all that way and it gets called off last minute.

Ha - with the amount of people in the UK I hear saying “it sucks” nowadays I thought this would be common as well. Yeah, I feel for the fans!

He'll be gone by then if we can find a taker.

They and we are competing at the top end of the table. More often than not, those teams are going to win.

| Late Milwall winner on 17:39 - Jan 4 by positivity | could be a benefit to let the players rest after a very busy period, today would have been on a leveller pitch, and was a potential banana skin. there's been talk of philogene and davis struggling for fitness in recent games, and we may have hirst, szmod and new signings available for the rearranged date. main downside for me is that azor could have got a yellow today and included the fa cup in the 2 match suspension (or is it competition-specific?) |
I think you’re right about the rest and waiting for a better pitch. The boys will, although having travelled, use the time well to recharge.

I hear you, but also, we shouldn’t be looking behind us. Beat Portsmouth away and today’s results don’t matter.

| Late Milwall winner on 17:26 - Jan 4 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | Biggest annoyance today was it was a bit chance to just wrap up an excellent festive season and get real momentum and then our first team could have had a rest next week anyway. Now we have to navigate another three game week with some travel affecting preparation for the Saturday games etc. Also means we will likely have less rest than our opponent at the end of that week. We’ve got the squad though. |
It was a chance lost, but not their fault and besides, on a dodgy pitch it could have gone against us with injury or the surface neutralising us in favour of them. Or an unfair sending off like the one at Blackburn.

Indeed, any team finishing above Southampton was going up automatically, apparently. PL’s going to look very different next season, with half the Championship in it…
