When they signed him I saw South American journalists saying him and Estevao were the two brightest talents in South American football. He is VERY highly rated - albeit I think there may be some attitude issues. This has the potential to be a real needle mover.

They call him 'the Ecuadorian Broady'.

And the piece at the end caught my eye “They claim the Chelsea man didn’t ‘follow the team’s game plan and often prioritised his own decisions over the collective effort’.
That made me chuckle. Sounds a bit like going for a job in customer service and stating that you don't like talking to other people. Lol

Nothing wrong with being selfish, as long as it pays off.

I can't profess to knowing too much about him, but the video suggests he's most effective coming in off the right. So is he more of a rotation player with Egeli? I think we all saw how off the pace Burns was against Oxford. It'll take him several weeks (months?) to get back fully up to speed IMO.

Or we move Egeli into the 10 which is where we see him long term. Be nice to have some interchange options with him, Egeli, Nunez to be fair. Szmodics and Akpom clearly don't fit the 10 bill.

He is a left footed number 10 so he does drift to the right pocket but he's most effective with freedom to roam. I wouldn't say he would be an effective winger for us - he'll be here to play the Chaplin/Hutchinson/Enciso role?

Defo is a 10, exactly what we need too. Nunez has done well but he needs to be an 8, signing Paez can then free Nunez up to drop deeper and dictate play from there.
Also helps he can play on the right as all of our options on the right this season have been pretty poor.

From memory there was a bit of a scandal when Ecuador played a friendly in the US and Paez was seen out at clubs (I can't remember whether they were the regular or strip variety) with the rest of the team including a certain Jeremy Sarmiento.
Still can't imagine Vodka Revs is his thing so we should be safe on that front.
