Its wrong to say Holt had no skill - he actually had plenty - the non-Norwich world was just blinded to that because of his size and style. Big useless lumps don't score untold goals in the prem.

It's not wrong. It might be inaccurate, but it's not wrong.

I know, I was being disingenuous. Holt knew his strengths and weaknesses, played to his strengths and ignored the flack he got for his weaknesses. Every team needs a player like that, in my opinion. Teflon-coated. He just riled the hell out of us when he was at Norwich and I still want to blow raspberries at him.

| Sargent made himself unavailable - Clement on 10:39 - Jan 12 by Kievthegreat | Good point, I read $18m/£13.5m, but if it's CAD then it looks even better value and less than Nunez! |
Nunez was £7.5m + add on’s. Surely getting promoted being the main one.

Unless he wants to and the price is right. Football is no longer about player loyalty or supporter emotions (if ever it was)

| Sargent made himself unavailable - Clement on 09:24 - Jan 12 by OldFart71 | I think the Budgies would want a similar fee to what we got for Delap and he's not worth that amount. Maybe around the 15-17 million. But I don't really rate him that highly. |
Can't imagine they'd be asking anywhere near £30m. Sargent is unproven above this level, he's in his mid 20s and is fairly injury prone. That's not a £30m player, very different kettle of fish to Delap. Even £15m to £17m looks top whack for a player of his profile.

Yes, Delap showed he could play in the Premier League and is relatively young. Sideshow Bob has done well for Norwich and is a good player - when he is fit and makes himself available to play. He might even be good enough for the Premier. Who knows, but he does know where the goal is so £10m max as far as I’m concerned.
