All seems pretty easy to me 11:43 - Feb 2 with 813 viewsDarkBrandon

We just need to sign a young, proven, prolific striker with a good physical profile, who can hold the ball up, run the channels, bring other players into the game. He must be pacey and pretty clinical in front of goal with the ability to step up to the Premier League should we get promoted (which his goals will guarantee).

This player must be available, happy to come to us, not on the radar of other clubs - especially those in the bottom half of the PL- and must fit in our wage budget.

Come on Ashton. Sort it out.

Right now, forget about the ability to make the step up. Let's get up first and then worry about that.

It really is that easy, and there's hundreds of them available, so it's not even like we're pushed for choice.

A lot of club PR types on here today.

If we were allocating 30M+ to the right wing, why not take a small gamble on another true 9 for under 10M.

We were obviously thinking about it with the links as well. Wish we’d have got the lad ended up at Derby as I suggested, he would have thrived here. Then there McBurnie for nothing, Kone etc. All would have been at very helpful.

Hirst has missed the most big chances in the league and Azon is up there as well.

The issue for me isn’t failing in January, always a tough window, it’s not doing much in the summer in the position.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Moore wasn't all of those but he sure did a job.

Let's not pretend it won't be disappointing if we don't bring another option in.

He was better than Kayden but not a patch on Hirst

The only Muff in Town.

Good checklist, but if he's not good in the air and able to single-handedly press the opposition defence for 90+ minutes too, then I think we ought to wait until someone with all those attributes is available.

I don't think it is. More like another post taking a pop at the fans.

I usually agree with much of what you post but as has been pointed out ample times - nobody could have expected Hirst to be the total cluster fck he’s been this season.

If anything my ire is with him not the club on this. Some of his touches and finishing this season have been an embarrassment. Looks like Al Hamadi vs Bristol Rovers last season most weekends.

Wrexham are after 2 strikers apparently. One from Wednesday and one from Barnsley (or Bradford)

That's a fair point, but Hirst is what he is now, for whatever reason. I'm sure he doesn't want to be struggling, but the club needs to react to the reality of what is in front of them.

I think he’d be about twenty patches on the 25/26 version if George Hirst.
