Norwich Away 15:37 - Feb 8 with 8753 viewscarlisleaway

This has been discussed on here earlier, but heard from a good police source yesterday. That everyone has to be bused in from Portman Road if you want to attend the Norwich away game at Carrow Road. Absolutely crazy, anyone thinks we are in for a riot. No thought for fans who live further away and once again giving into our two tier policing policy presently in action throughout the country.

Norwich Away on 07:44 - Feb 9 by Bluebell

I can’t believe I am reading this.

So we have to drive from Oxfordshire to Ipswich to catch a coach to Norwich for a 12.30 kick off!

How many coaches are they going to need for 2000 fans? How are they going to sort out the tickets (with peoples names on, if that is true) on the correct coaches.

Hilarious.

Come on Bellers do the math 😂👍

2000 divided by 50 is 40 coaches.

Each person will be allocated a coach, so coach steward will be given the envelopes with name on with the ticket inside.

Southampton laid on 40 coaches, you were assigned a coach.

Now, you'd have thought that when you turn up the 40 coaches would be lined up in numerical order, coach 1 at one end, coach 40 at the other. Apparently not, they were in any old order, so quite a challenge to find your coach...

There are some clever people behind these things...

I stopped going to that sh1thole years ago. The police are actually worse than the scum fans, and I definitely will never give that football club my money, feck em!

Heh, yeah, Norfolk plod never very pleased to see us.

Last time I went (Bialkowski 95th minute walk-about, shudder), there were a load of BTP from Nottingham there; the plod I spoke to shrugged his shoulders when (once again) I was whinging about overkill, and said words to the effect of that it was a 'local' decision.

Two alumni of this board also advised me that should you have the misfortune to get nicked up there, they take you down to Wymondham, keep you in overnight, and then dump you out Monday morning with a big smile, and best wishes to get home. Not the easiest to get back to Ips from Wymondham, it transpires....

How weird, almost like they don't like us. Which I guess is the point - there's your deterrent right there; as opposed to all this coach travel bubble guff.

And it's made significantly more difficult for Town fans up there than it is for Norwich fans at Portman Road.

Indeed - if it was up to me, I'd have them all deposited in Stowmarket, and have them escorted, crocodile file, into Ips down the hard shoulder of the A14.

They had three coach groups, leaving in half an hour intervals. You had to turn up at St Mary's an hour before your coach left. The earliest ones left at 8.30am - meaning those people had to get to St Mary's four and half hours before kick off, for a 40-minute journey.

I’ve heard the police want all Ipswich fans on busses and for them to be at the ground for 10:30 - once you are there, no alcohol will be served.

A disgrace if that happens .

The trouble back in 2024 will be there main argument where it kicked off however that was a Norfolk police mess up trying to re route fans without proper planning or any police further up the escort!

They do the same over here with Swansea v Cardiff. People living 20 minutes from the grounds having a 2-3 hour journey instead. It’s ridiculous and I couldn’t be bothered with it (which I suppose is what the police are hoping).

If five thousand of us, without tickets, decided we were going shopping in Norwich for the day - it is nice for shopping after all - they cant stop us doing that can they?

Not much stock left in the city centre after all the six-finger discounts taken into account!
