It's a pretty long run of games they have been doing so. It stops being a fluke after a while.

I'm less worried about Nunez now we have Mehmeti - and that allows Clarke to go back to operating in his best position, not having to drop deep to find the ball. IMO Philogene would have been just as ineffective without the link-up service the former two provide (tho, had Jaden been fit, JC could have played the no.10 to his wide attacker).

| Guthrum's Estimated Final Table on 23:10 - Feb 9 with 1700 views | Blue_Uprising | Feels exactly on the money for me about the points needed for top 2. We need 9 wins 4 draws and 3 defeats for the 31 points - which incidentally is exactly what we have achieved in the last 16 games. Game on. | | | |

I think we now have a very exciting set of attacking players And I think Neil is going to add some series energy and impetus from central midfield we’ve perhaps been lacking… it’s what Cajuste was brought into to do but hasn’t quite achieved it, Taylor has done well, but I think Neil will make a big difference - he wants to drive everything forward quickly He also removes the dependence on Nunez But being able to swap Mehmeti for Nunez to open up low blocks is an option And the wide we’ve an embarrassment of talent I think Azon and Hirst are there to hold and lay off… less as out and out strikers I do also things Akpom is going to play into form I can see a drubbing of an opponent soon.

Whereas I think we're more set up to efficiently win games, rather than utterly demolish the odd opponent among more mixed results. Applied pressure rather than flair and panache. Our recent mini-dip (which was only two games) happened when we were missing a couple of key elements - the most energetic and effective link-up man, plus one of our two primary goalscorers.

i think middlesboro are the ipswich equivalent in this scenario, we've been expecting them to fall away for months now!

Hull aren't anywhere near as strong as we were that season. Time will tell, but if Hull finish on 83 points I'll eat my hat. [Post edited 10 Feb 9:53]

yes, they have 54 pts and a gd of 7, we had 63 and +19! if we're looking for equivalents, they're closer to hull city 23/24 (went on to finish 7th)

It's Coventry that I've been expecting to slide. There's something about Lampard that doesn't seem to work when times get tough and that's only really just beginning for Cov now.

they are also performing well about all their metrics.... everything says that they will drop off, but we thought that about Plymouth in the league one promotion season, and the confidence just kept them going...

I agree re JC, and I do appreciate the distinction between dropping deep and tracking back, but this seems as good an opportunity as any to compliment JC on his pretty tireless work tracking back for the team when the situation demands it. Have been very impressed by that of late. Obviously it runs counter to the impression many of us got last season of him being a bit lightweight, and the hairband is never an easy signal to overcome, but contrary to any prejudices that many of us (myself included) had, the guy is a worker, and an effective one at that. What a revelation this season, in front of both goals! Mehmeti - yes, very happy. And my understanding of price in this market is well and truly out the window. Without comparing him to any specific pricey attacker who may be yet to convince, Mehmeti appears bargainous.

There's a big different between Clarke and Philogene on that left side, and possibly why Clarke is better suited to away games Clarke has 9 big chances created v 2 for philogene clarke has 4 xa v philogenes 2 It'll be interesting if KM does rotate them in this way.
