| Do we want Boro to beat Cov now? 06:24 - Feb 10 with 2672 views | Blue_Heath | A Boro win would mean we could over take Cov IF we can win both games in hand. I can't see Boro not being top two if I am honest so feel this is the best result? | |

| Do we want Boro to beat Cov now? on 11:49 - Feb 10 by GlasgowBlue | So we've dropped a point behind Boro in that time. And I think they went on a 4 game winless run without scoring a goal during that period. [Post edited 10 Feb 11:52]

Having played a game less though. Less about the top two than the other sides, I had almost forgotten Stoke's good start.

Yes but we were a game less on the table you linked. As somebody pointed out those dropped points against the Blades and Preston have made the difference. Stoke were always destined to drop off. Then again, so should Hull and Preston.

Agree but anything that helps along the way is most welcome.

| Do we want Boro to beat Cov now? on 07:14 - Feb 10 by Dubtractor | Whatever outcome there is from that game is decent tbh. One or both of our rivals will drop points, Coventry win and it dents boro's progress, boro win and Coventry are looking in a major difficulty, draw and both miss out. |
Yes, a win, win of sorts.

| Do we want Boro to beat Cov now? on 09:20 - Feb 10 by dirtyboy | It's in our hands. All 'ifs' and 'buts'....however...let's humour ourselves and assume we win our game in hand and make the fixtures against each other next. Before games against each other Mid 61 Cov 59 Ips 57 'Boro then play Cov and Ips win their game (against whoever you like) Permutations are> if 'Boro win and we win Mid 64 Ips 60 Cov 59 If 'Boro and Cov draw Mid 62 Cov 60 Ips 60 If Cov win Cov 62 Mid 61 Ips 60 We play Middlesborough at home which would mean a win puts it back in our hands for second place at worst. I suspect we'll see a few more twists and turns as yet though and we won't see the above play out in real time and the fixtures against each other could be absolutely irrelevant by the time they come around, but it does show that if we do perform, it's in our own hands.....currently lol! Reasons to be positive :-) |
That highlights why I'd prefer a Boro win!

Coventry's collapse is quite unprecedented really. They had a GD of +32 at that stage, 18 games in. 13 later and it's +28! From consistently winning at a canter to conceding more than you've scored, blimey. Does that make them unpredictable? Bulldozing the league wasn't a fluke. Chugging along at 6 mph hasn't been either. Two shocks so far, maybe capable of a third, maybe a cooked goose.
