Well observed, I think Reusers (?) freekickers (?) is getting a wee bit triggered as they say. But I did like the post before where the penultimate sentence about jobs ended with a full stop and then the final line was 'Moronic'. I didn't know it was a job, I could do that. Sounds a lot easier than being a scaffolder or a union rep. |  |

As far as I'm aware YouTube is balanced yet a quick look here on articles about this and 90% comments agree with him, once again the complete opposite to poster of this site only.
It's not just this story. Many stories the general opinion here is the opposite to the general opinion elsewhere. And when talking a big sample of opinions most all aligning away from the majority I find that a bit strange that's all. |

YouTube as a global user base probably is fairly balanced in users across the spectrum. No hard evidence, but given the huge user base and the fact I know you can find a broad spectrum of content, I'd assume it is.
However YouTube videos do NOT have balanced audiences. You watch the videos that interest you and YouTube feeds you videos that are related or that other people who watch/like similar videos like. It's full of the exact same echo chambers as every social media. That means if you watch news on YouTube, you get directed to channels that mirror your other viewing habits. If you watch political commentary, the same will happen.
Also goes beyond just the channel. It will also give you topics you want. If you watch videos about immigration, it will prioritise showing you news clips about immigration that most people might not see. YouTube knows that certain people engage with that content and will prioritise it in their feed.
End of the day, any site that tailors it's content suggestions to you based on your viewing habits or aggregates of other people's viewing habits is not designed to bring content to an unbiased (i.e representative of general society) audience, but to give you what you want to hear and make more echo chambers.
