He’s been training with the first team so KM will know him well. Maybe if it was a home tie, he may well have made the bench.

But, the jump from U21s to first team mens football is immense and it’ll take more than a couple goals at that level to justify that leap of faith.

As one option,maybe Jack Clarke? Hes an important player for us,even more so with Philogene out,so could we not have given him the night off and Mendel had his place on the bench? I dont think that's an unreasonable opinion.

Its not obsessed more of its a cup game and a chance for a few young lads to get a bench role.

You see other clubs throwing in youngsters of various ages. Obv I wouldnt be suggesting it for a league game. But in one where lets be honest it really doesnt matter if we lose it seems the perfect opportunity.
