Hirst is having a horrible season, and he evidently realises that himself, like you I would love it if he could have a key role in the run in.
I shared my thoughts on wanting another striker more than enough times, but the squad we have now is the one we need to see out the season with, and we can either get behind them or take potshots at players out of form.

I really hope he gets back to playing well and scoring, thats the only way to shut up our wonderful "supporters".
It also shows the players are human and whilst he suggests the abuse doesn't affect him, im sure it does.

Its strong for sure. But the point being is that the non scoring isnt the problem. It was never his game. I never liked him for that element of his game. I loved hirst for what he offered in his all round game. I never asked for hirst to play instead of delap because hed score more goals than him that wouldn't have happened.
But promotion hirst was a beast uptop. Annoying defenders. Winning battles. Playing team mates in. Winning 5050s and being a proper forward.
As a previous avid hirst lover all I want is to see the old hirst. |

He just needs to relax, focus on the basics and I'm sure he'll get back to it. |
Its difficult to relax and keep that focus with several hundred, maybe a thousand, maybe more i dont know people baying for your blood everytime you dont score a chance at goal.
The fact he even says he needs to do something amazing to get the fans on side...no player of our club should EVER be made to feel like that. To feel like they dont have our support.

Fair enough, but I do wish people would look at context before wading in attacking me. Its becoming quite the theme.
Also, I personally thought Frimleys attack on Hirst needed sharing as it proved a point at the time.
