Nunez back, Philogene setback, taken a step back, waiting to make a decision on Wes.

Philogene, hope he'll be OK for some games coming up. MCL injuries tricky, can get to point of training but catch you in last bit and can run on longer, so difficult to say how long. Shut down for a few days, start up again and move on from there hopefully.

Moved on from last week, looking forward to getting back to action. Feels like a long time since we faced Derby. Strange season in terms of gaps in the season, then busy periods. Want to start the next period well on Saturday. Useful to have been to the ground and the pitch. Will be things we'll do the same, differently, same for Wrexham.

Flow being taken out of game, happens in a lot of games this year, in Premier League as well. Seen how teams are concentrating on set plays game is stop-start. Periods when game is broken and we've got to not concede in those periods and look to score in those periods. Also know they can play as well. To win games away this time of the year, have to do a lot well.

Tried to use this week well in terms of the intensity. Really good training week this week and looking forward to the busy spell. Had a busy December and Christmas with an extra game against Blackburn and we enjoyed that period. Have to go into every game, whether we win or otherwise, we have to move on to next game.

No, it’s only just been revealed what injury it actually is.

Hirst, trained really well today. I've spoken before about how important he is to us. For me, if we take a step back, a player we signed for c£1m when he wasn't getting games at Blackburn. Scored goals in L1, Champ and in Premier League. Not many clubs have had better return for £1m for a player in this era. We have to find the right balance, was a player who was first to sign again in the summer, Liam Delap having been number nine last season. Has had good season after good season for us, has had good periods this season, but latterly, perhaps since injury, not at his best, but deserves respect for what he's done in his career. Know in the modern world it's what you do now not what you've done. He's said he's in his biggest dip in terms of goals, but voted into the leadership group by his peers, always want to be scoring. He deserves support and respect for what he gives us and what he's given us in previous years and we're going to need him between now and the end of the season.

Some players come back from injury quicker than others. Prior to the injury GH scored against Coventry and had a massive impact. Missed a few games over Christmas and can be difficult to get back to speed.

Dan Neil settled in well, helps that Jack Clarke is friends from Sunderland and JC and Jacob Greaves close as well, so North-East group together.

On social media, speak to players to say there's going to be noise from outside and we do speak to individual players on that. It's important, but no particular rules. Try and support each individual.

Cov v Boro, don't tend to watch those games live, watch on laptop the next day. But watched that as we didn't have a game, good game, both played well, Cov came out on top.

Wrexham's midweek game probably not going to affect them. Our players should be going into game fresh and we've had a mind on that. Will one team be fresher than the other? Probably not, but pleased to be going into game with a fresh squad with fringe players having been involved last week. Disappointed Jaden missing but otherwise in a good place.

February runs in previous seasons, I don't think it's useful making comparisons. Got a busy run of games coming up. Start with win on Saturday and then go from there.

Not a time to be messing about too much, but Mehmeti on the right?

I know, square pegs, round holes etc, but he looks capable due to work rate and has played there a number of times and would then allow Nunez back in the 10 which i'm not disappointed about.

A three of Clarke, Nunez and Mehmeti?

Predict Nunez starts on the bench for this one.

The first two sentences brought to mind this quote by Jean Paul Sartre, the French philospoher.

"In a football match, everything Is complicated by the presence of the opposite team."

Wonder if we might see Nunez and Akpom in the 10, Mehmeti and Clarke rotating the left role.
