As of right now, I think they'll pick up a couple of jammy wins and hobble over the line.

The bottom three plus Forest are dross. They’ll finish above them, sadly.

That too. West Ham had found some form but they have some difficult fixtures in March.

Definitely be good to get promoted this season in that scenario.

Forest, west ham and wolves are all playing levels above spurs and have been for some time. I think they’ll survive as well but they really are shite.

Wolves are going to be a force I think. I know Rob Edwards gets some stick at times but he’s very capable of taking them back up if they get their recruitment right. I think that’ll be a horrible place to go next season. Burnley have done it before at a bit of a canter, if they stick with Parker you would fancy them to be strong. Whoever joins them will be a big club by Champ standards. Potentially Leicester can stay up and sort themselves out, Saints & Sheff United might still be around, Wrexham & Brum will spend. I know we say it every year but it’s going to be a tough division to get out of next season.

There are 10 games left. Based on the last 10 games Forest and Spurs will both finish on 36 points but Spurs will survive on goal difference. They play each other on 22 March. That game is massive for both clubs.

It might be an easy division to get out of ... just a difficult one to get promoted from! Let's hope we aren't in it at any rate ... and that we make a far better fist of staying up next season than we did last.

Abso-ruddy-lutely let’s hope we get it done this season. Perhaps we can pick a few players off from the relegated clubs.

I was thinking about that the other day. The easy ones to pick off from the likes of Wolves would be the ones who haven't been good enough to stay in the league. We need to improve our team with a few players very capable of staying in it. Would we be able to prise the likes of them from any of those relegated clubs or would they go to other Premier League clubs? That is the problem. How do we identify and sign the sorts of players Forest, Sunderland, etc have got. I don't think they picked off from the relegated sides did they?

Yeah, I listened to part of the Forest v Liverpool game the other week and Forest were battering them. But poor today apparently (just off R5 Live updates in the car when I was taxiing the kids around). They’ve got the potential to pull themselves clear. Agree from what I’ve seen of WH too. I’ve not seen anything of Wolves lately, so if they’re also showing a bit of spirit it could be hell of a run in at the bottom.

Yeah, I’d be interested in Solanke, Gray and Bergvall from Spurs in fairness. Not sure the rest would make our squad.

Using the foreign market is key. # Before and during their successful 2024/25 season, Forest only bought two people from the English League (Anderson and Bindon, the latter a player for the future) and two loanees (Moreno and Ward-Prowse). Post promotion, the only players signed from an English club by Sunderland have been Adingra from Brighton and a young keeper from Lincoln, plus Guiu on loan. Wolves obviously made the most of the Portuguese market, in particular, at their peak.

There’s a fair few among those relegated clubs I’d have here, assuming it’s 3 of the current bottom 4, whether they would come or not is a different question. Sunderland did a lot of their shopping abroad, very different strategy to us but I think they were probably further along on the recruitment side to be able to do it while we were playing catch up and largely picking up the best of who we had faced in the past 6 months. I’d like to see us do a balance. Matusiwa is a good example of the value out there, but others probably highlight the challenge of moving to a new country and league and time that takes. If we went up I fully expect us to drop £100m again in the summer on 7 - 10 players. We’ll be very active in both directions, I wouldn’t say no to a few of the relegated lot although there will no doubt be bigger interest in the more proven ones. I’m not expecting Bowen or Gibbs-White types btw. I’m annoyed we didn’t get Zian Flemming when we went up last time tbh, he was superb for Millwall and has been for Burnley.
