Who else has shifted from anger and despair 15:56 - Mar 11 with 3274 viewsIllinoisblue

To looking at the league table and convincing yourself it’s definitely not over and if Milwall are still in hunt for autos why aren’t we as we’ve got a game in hand on them and a better goal difference, and we still have to play them and Boro, and Milwall and Boro still have to play each other, and and three points for us Saturday should be a gimme, and Milwall might slip up v Blackburn, as could Boro v Bristol City. And, and…

This positive outlook will likely last right up until Boro’s fifth goal goes in tonight but where there’s hope there’s a way. COYB

I'm both.

Annoyed about the performance last night. Poor 1st half, dreadful goals to give away, didn't look like a side heading to the premier league in many respects.

However I don't think the fat lady has finished warming up her vocal chords yet. We're in must win territory now, but its not impossible. Stick a couple of wins together ahead of the international break and we'll at least be coming out of it with a lot to still play for.

No way im putting myself through the misery of watching boro hump Charlton though.

Lots of twists and turns to come, I reckon. The really annoying thing about this season is it feels like other teams haven’t had to work very hard to score against us or beat us. Feels like we’ve been beating ourselves in quite a few games. Last night being the most glaring example. Nunez and Jaden coming back seems important - crucial actually - for us to breach the top two.

boro have got to play the best away team in the chapionship tonight, the only one of 18 teams who attempted who managed to beat ipswich at portman road. they have no chance!

seriously though, we need boro or cov to slip up again to stand a chance, and i'm not going through the dashed hopes of watching their games!

i just want us to show the fight of the 2nd half last night and see where it takes us...

We haven’t been Top 2 material all season.

I haven’t seen anything to suggest we’re going to magically change that.

that's wrong, we've been top 2 material since we brought in the new players

https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-

but the handicap we gave ourselves in the first 4 games without them has probably given us too much to do

I don't think too much about the start because on New Years Day, we were actually 2nd in the league. A point clear with a +11 goal difference advantage over Boro then went on to win our next two.

That original postponement at Pompey, followed by Sheff U defeat and Preston draw has a lot to answer for. And that's before we get to Wrexham and last night.

It's still largely down to what we do, despite the claims of some on here neither Boro or Coventry are already promoted or unstoppable. This time two years ago we blew the lead at Cardiff in injury time, a result that felt terminal to finishing in the top two at the time.

We are going to need some big results over the next ten games though and really can't afford to only play half a match again. Boro have a fairly straightforward six points from the next two matches but anything less than than offsets last night.

Just taking it one game at a time and avoiding the league table. It will only lead to madness.
Personally looking forward to Brum at home. We owe them one.

Everything is still possible but the dropped points from the last two games have made it much harder. Frustrating because in both games despite our deficiencies we got ourselves in positions to win and got shafted by shit refs.

Sums it up nicely.

For me there is something missing from our make-up; a soft underbelly, a fragility which is still our achilles heel. Mick Mc had the answer (but not for anything else) whereas KMc it seems be the other way round.

Win our game in hand we’re 2 points behind Boro and we still have to play them.

Of course it’s not over

Mine was anger at HT last night. Elation during the 2nd half then frustration at the end.

Today im at the point of knowing promotion is still possible.. but there just is no trust with this squad.

Its not like the season has been bad but we just dont look like a top 2 side. Thats not saying others do. But when you look at 30 points available and maybe needing 25 points I dont see how this side gets them.

I remember in the last couple of promotion seasons those at the top all had a serious wobble and nothing was cemented on until the last couple of games. Sure it will be the same - the pressure will show and Boro will have a slip up. If they do - and we can’t capitalise then it’s on us.
But saying that - the prem wasn’t at all fun last season for most of it and I can’t argue with a run in the play offs and a trip to Wembley.
