Good piece from a Sheffield journo on the very differing paths we and Weds have taken since that 2-2 draw.

Interesting. Thanks for posting.

Wednesday would do well to hang on to Pedersen if they can. I thought they looked well organised again yesterday.

The potential of that club is enormous and I don’t think it’ll take too much to get it pointing in the right direction.

A big club, a proper club. Huge potential if someone can lay a foundation and structure. If they start on minus 15 points in L1 that’s a big hurdle to overcome.

Yeah the Owls fans I spoke too seemed fairly sure this would be the case, interestingly also said they need to relocate.

Leave Hillsborough? I suppose other clubs have left their own historic stadiums but I imagine this change won't happen for a few years, if at all.

It will be due to ownership issues, no other reason.

Getting a further significant deduction, having already had 2 deductions this season and a nailed on relegation as a result, feels massively disproportionate.

There needs to be points deductions for financial mismanagement, but this is punishing the club multiple times for the crime of having a rogue owner, the acts of whom have in no way benefited the club.

.. and Leicester get just 6 points deducted, and will probably escape relegation. If ever I want a club to be relegated its those cheating skanks!

All really good to hear. On the pitch is the most important, but off it is almost if not as important. When HP meets KM during the international break, I think he'll learn a lot, especially if he speaks with others as well.

I’ve always got on well with Wednesday supporters. Yes, they have their idiots but by and large they are fine. A historic club with massive potential. I hope they stay and rebuild Hillsborough.

There is no way they’ll share with SU. Now there’s a rivalry. There’s no ‘we’re all happy scousers together’ bilge like Everton and Liverpool. They truly loathe each other. Try working with two of them as I did years ago and you’ll see that.

I wish them well.

It's where the 'football creditors' rule really needs overhauling.

Chansiri is essentially holding a gun to the head of any incoming owner, demanding he be paid off in full, otherwise he'll ask the EFL to deduct the standard fifteen points for a failure to pay all football creditors in full.

Assuming Wednesday can make a decent fist of next season, I can quite see a new owner fancying their chances more having an extra £15m in the bank and starting on -15pts, than starting on 0pts with lesser funds available.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

There seems to be issues with players being pelted with objects whenever we play them, and trouble outside the ground. Compared to other clubs their base of idiots is much larger. But I'm sure Walton and others being hit with lighters etc.. is fine because they're a historic club. Even if their history is being supported by scr*tes.

I used to think that and liked them ahead of United, but recent years have changed that. I find their fan based somewhat entitled and pretty nasty. I just can't like them, even without Bannan. Everyone has a club they just despise - for me its Wednesday

My experience of meeting with them, going to a fair few of their games over the years sharing time with a few of them on holiday isn’t that.

Yes they have their numbskulls and we don’t? Unless of course you view the hounding of a goalkeeper or the Fashanu song on a train ‘harmless banter’.

If you want to see what really ugly looks like, try Leeds.

Great for the external validation but surprised we didnt say, sure but please wait until May, weve got things on our mind to focus on until then! I suppose the international break offers a little break for everyone to squeeze something like this into calendars.

Seems to me that Wednesday are ‘dispensable’ in that they are a truly big club but unimportant enough to make an example of. They are also not going to sue in the way those innocent of over 100 charges Man City would.

It’s not right. It’s always been this way. Swindon or somebody play an unregistered player? Relegation. Ghastly West Hame same offence? A laugh, joke, nod and a wink.

The ‘rules’ are random, ill thought out and applied. You wonder how much the blazers are ‘looked after’ by the important clubs. Or are they just threatened?

Back to Wednesday you are right. It’s multiple punishment for a club thanks to scumbag owner who presumably once upon a time passed a ‘fit and proper’ test to own a historic football club. It’s disproportionate.

Indeed. Very much beating someone when they are down.

Especially as the problem (Chansiri) has gone away.

All completely true.

Also, can there also be some kind of fines system for the repeated failure of the EFLs “fit and proper person test”, which appears to be no more than check a mirror mists up when you put it under a prospective owners nose.

Sometimes not even that - as with Ali al-Faraj at Portsmouth, where there were some doubts whether he even existed.
