He was brilliant in his little first touch layoffs under pressure, wasn't he. Been getting better and better through the season. Not sure why some people seem to have a massive blind spot about Spanish forwards.

Hmmm. I thought he was throughly ineffective where it mattered on the pitch. His yellow card summed up his whole performance for me. But we know we’re not where we want to be with our forwards after spending two windows looking for an improvement. It is what it is.

He is good at lots of things. And he played well. But he is very slow in the box with the ball. For me anyway.

He was great today at chance creation and getting other plates involved. If any player disappointed me today it was Mehmeti. Thought it looked off it for the most part.

| Azon on 14:52 - Mar 21 with 1051 views | DJR | He is good at getting to balls he shouldn't get to, and laying off the ball quickly. It should open up things far more than it does, but our other players don't always take advantage with the final ball often being poor. Ian Dowie thought he had a good game, as he did Johnson, whom he said had kept Azeez quiet. [Post edited 21 Mar 15:50]

Yeah, Furlong seemed to struggle more than Johnson today which surprised me.

Yes, he's been so solid this season but arguably should have stopped the goal we conceded today, and the one against Stoke.

He didn’t create a single chance as far as I saw . He runs a lot and does little layoffs outside of the box, but nothing that actually offers a threat. If we had a striker that attacked the goal, there were a couple of lovely balls whipped in behind the CBs that would have been tap ins (much like their goal). But in open play he doesn’t find those positions. He was unlucky with his shot, but I think that was his only attempt too.

| Azon on 15:04 - Mar 21 with 923 views | grow_our_own | Generally Azon is much improved vs the player we first signed. But his sense of what is a foul in English football is completely out-of-kilter. He needs to stay on his feet. It clouds judgement of his performances when he dives, fails to win free-kicks/pens, and we lose possession. | | | |

Agree. I thought he did well against those monsters. He was a handful and very unlucky not to score.
| Azon on 15:15 - Mar 21 with 840 views | OldFart71 | Thought Azon played well especially against that big lump Millwall have at the back. Certainly couldn't say Akpom did a thing when he came on and neither did Philogene. But then Philly a bit rusty. We really struggle when a team is physical. Hirst despite being taller than Azon doesn't win as many balls in the air. Millwall deserves credit, although I am a bit averse to giving them any given their past. I think we are more likely to get more change out of Boro than we did Millwall and of course those dreaded Budgies won't be giving a lot away, Saints are flying as well. | | | |
| Azon on 15:53 - Mar 21 with 725 views | Benters | He was a bit slow at doing that yes. In the time he’s shifted the ball,Jack Clark has adjusted his hair band twice and stroked his mane once. | |

He went over looking for a foul once today. Once.

And even then, I thought he immediately made a motion of "no penalty", even before the referee decided to book him.
