I am writing as a lifelong supporter to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the recent visit of Nigel Farage to Portman Road.
Ipswich Town has always been more than just a football club to many of us — it represents community, inclusivity, and shared identity. For the club to provide a platform or be publicly associated with a figure who is widely seen as divisive has left me feeling alienated and disheartened at a time when we should all be pulling in the same direction for the run in.
Football clubs occupy a unique and powerful position within their communities. With that comes a responsibility to be mindful of how decisions and associations may impact supporters from all backgrounds. In this instance, I feel that responsibility has not been adequately carried out.
I would appreciate clarity on how this has been allowed to happen and reassurance that the club remains committed to representing the full breadth of its supporter base in a way that brings people together rather than risks division.
I remain proud to support Ipswich Town, but I believe it is important that supporters are able to voice their concerns when they feel the club’s actions do not align with its values. | | | |

The club have been played by Farage and Reform.
If it was an official visit planned with the club, then it would have been all over Reform’s social media in advance, but it wasn’t.
They have basically booked a stadium tour, most likely not even in Farage’s name, and then made it out to be an official engagement.
Yet again underhand and deceitful behaviour by Frogface and Co but it hurts because it devalues everything the club stands for in my opinion.
I don’t feel the club can be blamed particularly as they are having to react in a difficult situation as he is an elected MP and will happily attempt to twist any negative press to his favour with his usual no more free speech b0ll0x etc. [Post edited 24 Mar 10:59]

I genuinely hope Mark Ashton ignores every single moaning email he gets about this - as a club they can do what they like and associate with whoever they like, we might not agree, we might not like it but nobody on here has the right to dictate to them - Marcus Evans was big supporter and donater to the Liberal Democrats and openly so - i imagine he'd be rolling the red carpet out to Ed Davey if he was still running the club (God forbid !) would there be this much uproar if he did ? probably not.
