I know you are being deliberately provocative and will get the response you deserve, but its true that our morals have seemingly been a little more flexible in the past when the club have employed convicted racists, thugs, drink drivers and assorted philanders to kick a ball around.

I suspect this thread will disappear soon, but you've actually hit on something worthwhile here. I don't know what his views are, but evidence suggest Morsy's life is driven by his faith and his beliefs, which I respect but don't share.

F*rage has no beliefs, his only interests are for himself and the grift. So I'm comfortable with my supposedly contradicting views on this one.

Plenty of religious people are supportive of gay people. Using religion to back up their own prejudices is just a convenient excuse for their narrow mindedness.

I agree that holding an abhorrent irrational belief, is not made any better by reliance on a religion.

There's common ground between the two incidents though, our usually omnipresent CEO has gone into hiding on both.

It was one thing for Morsy's religious views to conflict with the Rainbow Laces today but he should not have been captain.

CEO's are paid good money to make difficult decisions and the utter silence from Ashton on both is to his immense discredit.

That was a very embarrassing situation for the club for sure to be associated as anti LGTBQ+.

But both have placed the club in an embarrassing situation and avoidable.
Farage should have been stopped from visiting and the captain's armband taken away from Morsy for that game.

We should stop validating discriminatory religious beliefs that belong in the dark ages. No matter which religion it is.

JD Vance and other evangelicals quite rightly don't get a free pass on bigotry because of their religious views.

Some people start wars and commit terrorist acts based on their faith, or rather their warped interpretation of their faith..

You're wrong, both incidents are stains on our club

I think we all know that if a statement was required that boosted Ashton's profile and ego it would have been released hours ago

I mean some people lost it on here when we were rumored with McBurnie!

There is so much money in football that i would guess many executives/owners are not particularly left leaning.

But in terms of optics and PR management this is not very clever. You should stay away from all political parties IMO.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?
