Wembley was amazing, but so was promotion into the inaugural PL.

Playing our promotion rivals and getting a last minute ugly winner...we all knew what it meant Genuinely the hardest I've ever celebrated a goal and am sure many others feel the same. The noise in the streets behind the North stand... Twtd

Even more so as we were outplayed for a lot of that game. Monumental way to win it. The video from the Saints vlogger of the North Stand erupting sends a shiver down my spine. And the old guy flicking Vs at the away end from Lower Cobbold is the cherry on the cake.

I was too young to understand the 68 promotion. I loved the John Lyall 92 one. Football was different then and despite us not being fancied I always felt we had a chance fr9m the Southend home game on. The crowds were small but grew and so did the fun. Good team, that. Burley’s teams? A pleasure to watch. Bolton second play off at home - the most extraordinary night at Portman Rd ever for me. You had to be there. Wembley? What a day L1? I couldn’t go to the games. Championship? Went to most of the home games. The moment was the first goal v Huddersfield. Absolute joy filled with sadness. I wish my dad could have seen it or the clubs revival that preceded it. Each promotion has its merits. In terms of promotion seasons but 92 gets my vote. But oh, that Bolton game.
