Wrexham look absolutely hopeless so far 20:14 - Apr 7 with 2132 viewsDubtractor

Southampton decent but not needing to work hard for the lead at all.

Not sure Wrexham have completed a pass in the Southampton half yet.

Worth noting that we have a much better goal difference than them.

Means we would have to have less than 84 points if saints do manage a perfect run in.

If they keep winning, we need to be on 81 or more when we play them so that we know a win v QPR will keep us above them last day whatever happens in our game.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

For them to get autos they need 4 sides to absolutely bottle the last part of the season. Thats a big ask.

Not really, currently Boro and Millwall can only get 3 more points than them if everyone won.

It would be one side - us.

And the way we've been playing of late, I'm nervous. I know results are more important at this point of the season but...

This goal difference point perhaps less clear than it was at time of posting now!

Still +10 better though.

If Southampton had sacked Will Still three weeks earlier they would be challenging for 2nd spot. Fantastic turnaround and completely blows the "sacrifice the cup to concentrate on the league" narrative.

Proves nothing yet. Southampton may still run out of steam, although they should make the play-offs.

And fail to beat them at home.

And lose in the cup …

Because they are a better team, club, much better supported and we are just rubbish. Useless overpriced players who many supporters hate with no real team there.

Alternatively, the stats say that since Jan 1st we’ve won 9 from 15 league games and lost twice, gaining 31 points, just over two points a game. Oh and are second on goal difference. There’s no luck in that after 39 games. Meanwhile, Wrexham’s crest of a wave seems to have peaked.

What is left of the season is up to us. Teams’ form will ebb and flow. Southampton are riding the wave. Maybe they’ll win every game between now and May. Or maybe games and the FA Cup will catch up on them as it did Coventry two years ago. Who knows.

We really need the players and medical team to work together. Be transparent about their level of fitness and work with them. And also give KM the opportunity to pick the best starting lineup and best finishers.

Monday we looked cooked from 55 minutes, not one or two players either.

Km mentioned the fitness after the game.

We try and see out this season like Mondays 2nd half and it could cause us problems.

Weve had a few poor first halves with better 2nd. Monday saw an ok first half but dreadful 2nd.

That for me is a fitness thing imo. We havent got the mix right on who should he starting and who finishers
