| Carrow Road question 15:47 - Apr 12 with 2277 views | Illinoisblue | The stand opposite the away end - the Blakely stand? - is that their main stand? As in that’s where club directors, media and the expensive seats are? It’s the sort of stand you’d see in League 2. Deeply unimpressive. | |

| Carrow Road question on 15:51 - Apr 12 with 2220 views | The_Major | Yeah, it's the City Stand. It was built after the not on purpose at all honest fire destroyed the original in 1984. So it's younger than the Cobbold and West Stands, but looks a lot older. | | | |
| Carrow Road question on 19:43 - Apr 12 with 1825 views | Miaow | Always baffles me how their ground supposedly holds over 27k. I suppose it helps having three of the corners filled in, but it looks low 20s at best. | |

I get that before they had the same problem with going backwards on that side that we had with the Cobbold - there's a road right behind it, but when they built the Riverside area on the old rail yards, they rejigged the roads around there, and 99.9% of the traffic on Carrow Road immediately behind the stand disappeared - and that was 25 years ago. Just surprising they haven't replaced that stand, especially given matches are in no doubt plentiful supply over the road at Morrisons.

My understanding is that it was built with sufficient foundations/reinforcement in place that they can just plonk another tier on top of it as and when demand requires, and it's understood up this way of the world that it would be the next step in any future expansion. It's always struck me as a little funny that, if you go straight on through the tunnel instead of turning right/left, you walk through the double doors and are pretty much straight out onto the street.

Is that the tiddly little one, dwarfed by the bungalows behind it?

| Carrow Road question on 15:00 - Apr 13 with 850 views | rgp1 | That stand looks remarkably similar to the main stand at West Brom. The amusing thing I thought was at the corner between the main stand and the river end, there is an executive box that has it view obstructed by the roof stanchion. Another thing I have noticed there before is the playing surface is incredibly narrow. In fact a full 7 metres narrower than Portman Road. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It looks OK in a limited sort of way from the inside, apart from the tiny side stand opposite the cameras and the funny brickwork in the corners, but from the outside it's a horrific architectural hotch-potch of a mess. Surprised the King, with his architectural bent, hasn't decreed that it ought to be torn down, what with Sandringham being so close and stuff.

Didn't Norwich Union, or was it their parent company Aviva write off a big chunk of our debt when we came out of administration? Don't think that went down well with budgie fans.
| Never forget that on 7th. April 2021, for ITFC, the Game Changed. |

| Carrow Road question on 18:03 - Apr 13 with 579 views | TexacoCup | The way we view grounds is often dependant on where the main cameras are - at both CR and PR they face the smallest stands. Portman Road would look so much better if the West stand was on view. | | | |
| Carrow Road question on 18:05 - Apr 13 with 573 views | SamWhiteUK | In the Town in 5 you can see Baggott and someone else chatting before the game looking round the ground and it joins as Baggott says, "yeah, much smaller," or words to that effect. I wondered if he was talking about the ground and perhaps comparing to PR? | | | |
