Growing up in Lowestoft I had a choice of Ipswich or Norwich, but as Ipswich were in Suffolk I chose them. But if not them then it would have been Norwich. I think I made the right choice!!
P.S. As a former referee I have refereed at Carrow Road

In theory it ought to be Brighton because I lived there until I was 7 and still have a great fondness for it as a place. But I've never felt an attachment to the club even though my dad went to see them a couple of times when he lived there.
So although it's not strictly within the rules, I'd probably opt for Hibs as my dad's parents and three of his siblings were born in Leith. In addition, my mum went the the same school as the Proclaimers who are big fans of Hibs.
And who can beat this as a club anthem?

I don't think I would watch a huge amount of football now tbh. As a kid I was obsessed and constantly playing or watching football. Into adulthood as well, I worked in the industry, coached for a few football league clubs, scouted for 2, but I find myself watching less non Town related games now. I still like to watch live but hardly ever on TV.
When its your team it just hits different, the high's and the low's. The only other side that gets remotely close is the England national team.
Its why I can understand people who don't get really into football, if they've got no affiliation with a side and watch a 0-0 you can see why they might be like 'what's all the fuss about?'.

Probably Spurs, as my first interest in football was Italy 90 world cup, and Gazza and Lineker both played for them. But having said that, my interest in football was only very casual anyway, never had a team really, until our Premier run in 2001. I was living in Scotland at the time and people were talking about it even there. I decided that once I was back in Suffolk I'd start going to games. Which makes me seem like a glory hunter, but they had already been relegated and in financial doo doo *before* I bought my season ticket.
It could have turned out very different - between the impressionable ages of 11 and 13 I was living in Norwich! Thank goodness none of that rubbed off on me.
You've just knocked 25 years of my imagined age for you, as I had assumed the Baxter was the great Billy Baxter of Town Division 1 winning fame!
As with most folk you grow up supporting your local team, or the dominant team at the time. I grew up to Town and Sir Alf so to support Town was a no brainer. As to an alternative i have to say Man U. I recall the days of Best, Charlton, Cantona, Van Persie, Rooney etc. Add to that my son is a Man U fan and season ticket holder. I live just south of Manchester so i also have a season ticket to share football with him and my grandson. Man U are therefore my second choice. That said i support Town irrespective of which division they are in. From the sad days of MM to the glories of Ramsey and Robson and more recently McKenna. It pains me that we have idiot supporters who cry McK out just because we dont win every game.
P.s. My friends in the north here respect Town for the club we are and the footballing history we have.

I think you can only support a club you spend time watching. It’s an organic think that creeps up on you over time. I’ve never understood how someone can randomly pick a side and say that’s their club, especially as when you meet people that have done this they have often never seen that club play live. That’s not supporting.
With that in mind, for me it would have to be Swansea as I see them more than anyone else except for us. Some seasons lately I probably see more of Swansea than us. But it never gives me the same highs or lows as we do. I think that once you’ve grown up supporting a club that’s it, you’ll never be able to get them out of your blood. That’s how it seems to be for me anyway.

I'm the same. I often go to watch Notts County - certainly more than Town in the PL but it's not the same connection. I'll clap and cheer but can't bring myself to sing many of the songs. Having said that, it's a great club with a good following and as many Town fans will know, really good for a pre-match beer so it's the Pies for me.
It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.
