| Burns on 12:28 - Apr 29 with 390 views | Libero | He's been a wonderful signing and a top Championship player, but I think last time around in the Premier League showed us that he's not cut out to compete at that level, sadly. A firm handshake and thank you and a fitting heroes goodbye for Burns, I feel. | | | |
| Burns on 12:45 - Apr 29 with 324 views | dirtyboy | He looked a little rusty last night with the touch, but he's still rapid, I'm so pleased for him that he's not lost his pace. The thing that I love about him and really makes him stand out, is that he looks like he's got time on the ball, always been an eye test that I use and generally an easy win. If we're promoted, I'd definitely want him in the PL as part of the squad. I think he's probably a really good pro to have about too. I like teams to have a player that's come up through the leagues on the basis it keeps an element of a group being grounded. | | | |

Not so sure about that. Burns did play in several of our more successful Prem games before the injury. It may be coincidence, but our form in the second half of the season, when he was out, dropped significantly.

I'm just talking about what I saw from him specifically. In the Championship his physicality is very effective, sadly it doesn't have the same impact in the Premier League and he just isn't consistently technically proficient enough to warrant an inclusion.

I love the man, but sadly he just isnt cut for Premier League. We saw it last time around, really struggled and he isnt getting any younger. We will be upgrading our right side 10 fold in the summer. Looked brilliant last night but if we really want to kick on its these difficult decisions we have to get right.
| Burns on 15:16 - Apr 29 with 190 views | hype313 | All depends on what division we're in, if we go up then I'd expect he gets a nice promotion bonus and a decent 3yr deal elsewhere to see out his career. If we end up staying I'd be minded to give him a new deal, however, it's clear McKenna has wanted to upgrade in the past year with successive signings in that position, Mcateer recently showing some promise. Think it will be a thank you, go and get the best possible deal and go down in folklore as one of Ipswich's greats. | |

| Burns on 15:27 - Apr 29 with 168 views | rickw | I thought he was good last night and looked more like his pre-injury self. However if we do go up , then 2 years ago he wasn't good enough for the PL so I doubt he would be next year, Cardiff sounds like a great move for him. If we don't go up I'd love him to stay, but I'd still only see him as a stop gap and wouldn't offer him a long term deal | |

| Burns on 12:04 - Apr 29 by SE1blue | If anyone has earned the Sone-Aluko-Ashley-Young-Saga-Squad-Place for footballers approaching retirement, it's Wes Burns. Think he still has far more to offer than those two ever did/have when given that role. Appreciate that this semi-retirement role is more valuable in a PL squad but we are currently a better team with Burns in it. |
He's 31... plenty of fuel in the tank imho I'm torn tbh. I think he can do a job for us, whatever division we find ourselves in. I thought he was just getting to grips with the PL before that horrible injury. And that's where I'm torn - injuries. He is injury prone unfortunately. My head says that Mcateer was signed as part of the plan to replace him, so I think he'll leave in the summer. I will be sad to see him go. For me he's one of the best pound for pound signings we've made in years

mcateer's performances have gone up exponentially since wes returned, definitely think there's something in him seeing how he plays the role. don't think we can keep him on just as a coach for mcateer though!
