| Polanski on 21:48 - May 1 by wrightsrightglove | You’re probably a lot older than me but I can’t remember a local election where only local issues had been discussed. Every party does it as far as I can see so not sure why the greens would shoot themselves in the foot by not talking about national issues that matter to a lot of people. |
That is an international issue. These are local elections.

Which current leader would you put ahead of him?
| Polanski on 21:59 - May 1 with 440 views | pointofblue | I voted for the Greens in the last two general elections but things like this to make me very wary about Polanski's ability to read the room, which is a key skill for a politician. But if not them, who? The options seem to be dwindling by the day, at least at national level. | |

Yes? That wasn’t my point, I was saying every party is doing it (and always has done in my lifetime) so why should the greens disadvantage themselves? Edit: I’d also suggest that support of an ongoing genocide and offering no consequences for the breaking of international law would be classed as a national issue. [Post edited 1 May 22:02]

Fair points. I don’t like this. I’d rather it was about bins and libraries. Unfortunately we’re all seeing that global events hit our wallets and people want to blame someone for that. I really don’t like the negative campaigns this time around though. Your example is obviously locally targeted (high Muslim population?), as I’ve received nothing like what you’ve posted. Nothing about Palestine at all from the Greens. Here it’s all about keeping Reform out. It would be nice to know what a party stands for rather than what is stands against (I can work out for myself Farage is a racist and surrounded by incompetent nut jobs).

That’s a valid ideological point. Plus theres the practical issue of the cost to us of US/Israeli aggression of course. It’s the main driver of pressures on the cost of living, which is very much a local problem.

It might not be local but I’d very much like to be represented locally by a party who shares the same values and opinions as me, both locally, nationally and internationally.

After a niggling injury that has kept him on the sidelines for a few weeks, Vapers returns to full fitness the final game of the season and lands a down arrow in the first minute.

A bit eccentric but harmless. Cuddly even. Now they’ve absorbed (been hijacked by?) all the Corbynite outcasts that were too extreme for Starmers’ Labour. So now it’s full of commie cranks, rainbow haired weirdos and Jihadists. I see expensive village/country cottages with Green signage outside and can only laugh. They’ll only have themselves to blame when their car is outlawed and home nationalised to house refugees.

You can tell they’re making progress just from the fact there’s a certain type all of a sudden aiming their guns in their direction.

I wasn’t, but someone asked so I gave my opinion. They won’t steal many Conservative votes, more a problem for Labour.

No, appreciate that baxter, you’re a reasonable man though. Look through the various threads and you can see the more irrational and politically invested getting very serious about the greens.

Commie cranks! Wouldn't know what communism is if it was put in front of you. Still loads of good presumption and prejudice. Well done
