I think there is an expectation he will sign there permanently. It seems he is happy there. It would be silly for us to go back to him when Walton is playing well and keeping out Palmer who was signed in the Premier League as a replacement for Muric. I don't think keeper is a position we need to be messing around with and I think Walton deserves his chance.

Whilst the fan stuff was awful. It also needs to thought of that he simply didn't fit witj us. In all club photos and videos he was never smiling. With his loan club hes been beaming since he moved. Thats ok. That can happen. He may not have liked county life for example. If he goes perm all the best to him.

Palmer was an emergency signing because Walton picked up an injury just before the transfer window closed. The injury kept Walton on the sideline for the whole of February, and into the middle of March. It was fortunate we did too, as Muric picked up an injury at the start of March that kept him out for the rest of the season.

Fair enough but I really don't think it is a position we are desperate in. As the Muric signing shows, a new keeper can be a big risk too.

Muric won’t be coming back for sure - that bridge is burnt. However, I don’t think Walton is good enough with his feet to be our best ‘keeper option for the PL. I hope we add a new ‘keeper to the squad. A Kelleher level player.

Walton has improved a lot with his feet, I think. He's no Hladky, but depending on our style of play I'd be reasonably happy with him in the PL. He's at least in the category where it wouldn't be a particular concern if we went into the season with Walts as our number 1 I think, although I'd like another keeper already at his level, but with more margin for development.
