Sorry, but we will. Deluded to think otherwise.
To progress, our worst players next season need to be some of our best players this season.

Some may step up, but you are most likely right tbh. Very unlikely most of this team Re going to step up, some might see this as a second opportunity and give it their all, but only time will tell.

Can I just say thank you once again Ernie for the downvotes this season It is been a pleasure and look forward to resuming hostilities next season. 🫡😉😅
A unique talent.
Good work by Philogene...... GREAT WORK BY PHILOGENE!!!
I don't recall Walton or Palmer making a mistake this season, and Walton was second in the Championship in terms of the number of goals conceded (5.6) according to FotMob. And Palmer did well in the Premier League.
As regards playing out from the back (and any deficiencies either might have), I am inclined to think that will not necessarily be something we do as a matter of course. Indeed, it has been noticeable in recent games that Walton has often hit it long, just as Palmer did when he came into the team last season.

Think we’ll see a huge overhaul again. It makes it difficult to have the same affinity we had with the back to back promotion squad, but needs must.
I just hope we’ve extended our recruitment/scouting network on the continent. There aren’t many Championship players I’d be in for to be honest other than Hackney.

Walton definitely deserves a shot in my opinion, he’s been outstanding this season.

I really like Walton and think he has a really good season, delighted to see him get his credit from his peers last night, but I will shocked if he is our starting keeper next season.
I saw someone else use the example of Sunderland, they had Patterson who was superb for them in the champ and still went away and got Roefs who's been one of the best keepers in the league.

That’s a fair point - and you example has been superb. But I’d give him a shot if we can’t get someone who is a clear upgrade (which I’m not convinced Muric was).

A spine?!
The only PL-calibre part of our spine is Dara and Matusiwa. Plus Leif.
New GK Competition for Leif First choice RB First choice CB alongside Dara Another backup CB First choice CM alongside Matusiwa Backup for Matusiwa First choice RW First choice #10 Backup #10 First choice #9 Backup #9
There's at least a dozen.
It's going to be at least 12 new faces isn't it?
I'd expect us to be looking at maybe 3/4 players with good PL experience and then mainly looking abroad this summer now that our scouting network has developed. Getting those players with PL experience that were able to make a real difference was something we didn't manage last time. Probably not going to be any easier this time around.

I completely understand why we signed Muric. He was statistically one of the best keepers in Europe with the ball at his feet, he was a monster claiming balls in the box and he had a really high ceiling as a shot stopper. He did show with some performances, Spurs and Brighton come to mind why he was so highly rated and has shown since in Italy.
It just did not work here at all, there were too many really low lows and I just think fans and by the sounds of things players lost faith in him. But I did understand why the club went after him.

I know nothing about Roefs but he doesn't do anything like as well as Walton, according to Fotmob, when it comes to goals prevented.
The other thing that Walton has, given his award, is the confidence of the players something that Muric (who wasn't great with his feet) lost very early on.
Of course, if there were not issues in other areas of the team, goalkeeper might be an area to concentrate on but to me goalkeeper is way down the list of priorities.
But that is not to say that your expectation does not turn out to be correct.

It simply can't be any less, especially when you look at that list. That's not being disrespectful to this season's squad. It's just reality.
The only relatively strong info I have re. signing PL experience is Wan-Bissaka (good relationship with KMc already from United days). But a lot of that rests on West Ham's PL status.

Chalk and cheese comparing these stats between the Champ/Prem though. Goalkeeper is one of the most important positions to get right. You need a keeper that can play with their feet against an elite press week in, week out. Hladky was better in 23/24 than Walton has been this season and he was promptly replaced. I don't see it being any different this summer.

By the sounds of things after his displays this season most West Ham fans would be happy to drive him here !
