The majority of the population is sick to the back teeth of the Labour and Tory parties.
They have both told lies over the last 26 years and very few people trust what they say.
Too many scandals have happened and I think the Mandelson episode was the last straw.
I was speaking to my financial advisor recently and I asked him what the financial implications would be of a reform government and his view was ‘they can’t be any worse that the Tories and Labour’
This country and the World is in the biggest mess ever and I guess many people’s views when voting Reform is exactly because of the above
It doesn’t help Labour that Starmer has got the personality of a frog and is also a globalist.
If Starmer had his way he would rename England to Everybodiesland

I have always thought that an abstention tends to indicate a willingness to accept the status quo.
Actively spoiling a ballot paper, on the other hand, shows a willingness to engage coupled with a genral disatisafction with the process and/or the options. |  |

People are sheep.
The amount of people who "hate Starmer" but can't give you a single reason why truly amazes me. Reform seem to be taking their votes because they are a different option and that's good enough because maybe they can sort the country out. It's not that they believe in Reform and their policies, it's throwing sh1t and seeing what sticks.
The only good thing is several of these people immediately switched to Restore as soon as they popped up. Probably because there is a short catchy slogan for Lowe. Anything which splits their vote share is a good thing.

Have you seen their proposals? Just to stop the boats they will leave the ECHR, which only Russia and Belarus aren't in (should be a red flag there!). This underpins our EU trade deal and the peace agreement in Ireland. So they would ruin the country financially and cause chaos in Ireland. All just to stop some immigrants, who they can turn away if their asylum application isn't valid anyway.
Then they'll do God knows what with the NHS, make huge benefit cuts to fund beyond inflation rises for pensions, trash the green energy programme, despite it being essential for energy security (even if you don't believe in climate change) and have us tied to the the global oil market even more than we currently are.

They changed the rules a few years back to eliminate what is known as "churning" I believe.
Basically, say someone had a pension policy that was invested in fund A, and the IFA would say that the policyholder wanted to transfer to fund B. Fair enough.
Then EXACTLY one year later, the same IFA would come back and say "Oh, they've had a look at things, and now want to transfer to fund C"
And then another year later to fund D, and so on and so forth. You wouldn't be able to switch funds more than once in a year on these type of policies, and every single time you did it, it generated commission. It was all nonsense of course - nine times out of ten, the policyholder would be some poor unsuspecting soul who didn't know the first thing about pensions funds, and just relied on whatever the IFA told them, and would sign the forms. I saw situations on more than one occasion where that happened and the pension fund dropped like a stone, but the IFA still got their hefty commission each year. [Post edited 9 May 13:55]
