Going to be a long summer… 16:11 - May 10 with 1719 viewsSitfcB

KIERAN MCKENNA looks increasingly likely to leave Ipswich Town this summer if he is offered another Premier League job.

The Tractor Boys do not want to lose the man who has led them to three promotions in four seasons.

But they are drawing up a list of candidates in case McKenna leaves.

Crystal Palace would be keen if they cannot land top target Andoni Iraola, who is leaving Bournemouth this summer.

Iraola appears to have a straight choice between Palace and Chelsea.

Fulham is another potential destination should highly rated Marco Silva be tempted away from Craven Cottage.

- written by a Norwich fan of course.

TBH if he does he does, he goes with thanks, but if it happens, it needs to happen before july.

We are in a great position to attract some excellent managers, some with prem experience too.

If he stays brilliant, but the club itself is in a great place should he not.

i would just prefer it not to take up the summer and hurt our summer business

According to TalkSport (who recently interviewed Ashton) his release clause has gone up following promotion. Would think that would take him out of the picture of most Prem clubs. I guess we might compromise on that if he heavily pushed to leave.

I saw an £8 million figure reported last week.

Will hopefully put most off.

Yes, it's £5m in the Champ and £8m in the Prem.

Hope so.

I’m not as worried as I was in 2024, yet.

I think he’ll want another crack at it with us.

Given he decided to stay last time with the offers he had, and that this time we're better set up and he will have money and support, I reckon he stays at least one more year.

£8m compensation
£100,000 a week.

Only top clubs are paying that.

He’s not on the radar of top clubs anymore.

Palace and Fulham both represent good opportunities, I wouldnt hold it against him if he left for either. Fulham really stable, Palace maybe getting a European trophy. Both would look like logical steps for him.

Wait and see. Cant worry too much, when it happens it happens

Hold the front page, McKenna might leave Ipswich this summer.

This isn't journalism, it's just crass speculation from an embittered Norwich fan.

The Sun should prioritise hiring a new chief football hack.

Last thing we would want is to have to find a new manager, staff and build a new team as well. Not sure Ashton has the scope for that.

Hopefully he will stay one more season to oversee the transition.

Sounds completely plausible to be fair.

Poll: If forced to sell one of the following this summer, who would you sell?
