I've no idea what you're on about now. I'm neither centrist or a dad... and you're saying "the country has had it" when I've shown, with facts, that the economy is improving more than expected (and that despite Trump's stupid war).

| The economy has grown... despite the Iran war on 16:05 - May 14 by BloomBlue | Which is why kicking out Starmer could be Labour's coffin nail moment. As I've said on other posts, Labour was elected on 'we're stable and not constantly changing leaders like the Tories' as much as anything else. Well they're now changing, it looks like, and that will mean a change in (some) direction. If the economy goes backwards, which is possible especially if the Iran/US standoff continues, then the other parties will argue its Labour's instability in changing Leader that caused the economy to go backwards. As we know Parties don't win elections they lose them |
Changing once isn't constantly changing leaders like the Tories though, is it?

| The economy has grown... despite the Iran war on 14:26 - May 14 by redrickstuhaart | Waiting lists down too. But somehow this isnt relevant. No vision, no plan.... Surely a government's job is to run the country properly. |
I’m not taking too much notice of the growth figures as they’re small changes, lumpy month to month and not fully under their control. But the waiting list falls are significant. That’s solely as a result of starting to get a handle on the problem. It was never going to be a quick fix. Their good work has definitely been under-promoted by them and under-reported in the press. Starmer’s not had his authority for a while, so he needs to go, but it’s a bit of a shame. They’re gambling on someone coming in and turbo charging recovery with a serious rethink on direction and policy. We could get more of the same or worse, a collapse into more infighting, and it will have all been for nothing.

That level of hatred suggests the Greens (I could be wrong though). Labour’s traditional opponents may have been the Tories, but their real enemy has been those on the other side of the party. It’s always been the way with all socialist movements. They seem to much prefer tearing themselves apart than fighting the opposition lol. PS. I really enjoyed the Origin Story podcast’s last season which was all about socialism. It’s a long listen for all the episodes, but they go from the rise of ‘modern’ socialism around the French Revolution through communism, several episodes on the Labour Party, have got episodes on the big figures, etc. I’d recommend it if you’ve can find the time and stand the sweary Ian Dunt. His co-host Dorian Lynskey has a great sense of humour and does a ton of research for them. [Post edited 14 May 18:15]

Oh no. You can't use that old get out. They purged the party of the left so this is all on them. We're not talking about the crazies here by the way. Just those who wanted the labour party to be mildly socialist. And once again for those at the back, requesting moderate demonstratic socialism is not extreme. But if you're listening to Ian Dunt then that says it all.

The best way to get that is to support the most left wing government available and push from there.

Those here wishing the Labour Party were more left wing (as they used to be) have to respect the reality that a left wing party won't win an election in this country. So you can wish all you like but I'd rather a slightly more left than the Tories version of Labour be in power than a left-wing version be permanently in opposition frankly. And those expecting things to have changed in 2 years are deluded. 14 years of slow death to the NHS can't be fixed in 2, but there are some signs it might be improving. Yes it's underfunded, but Labour have already put in way more than the Tories ever did and have given some half decent pay rises to doctors (though, again as the Tories cut their pay in real terms by about 35% you can't fix that in 2 years either). And some of the change being suggested costs money that doesn't exist. Where do you propose we get it from? The rich? Oh yeah, that always works! Towns are crumbling? Yes, that's because of the shift to the Internet for most shopping. How do people propose that is fixed? Bearing in mind that money isn't exactly in abundance? It's easy to list the problems, fixes are harder. [Post edited 14 May 20:16]

Total nonsense. Explain 2017 then. Today's version of Labour is to the right of Attila the Hun, nevermind the Tories! Principles count. And have you noticed that Bury isn't crumbling while Ipswich suffers? Funny that...

I'll pretend Corbyn didn't preside over Labour's biggest ever defeat two years later then shall I? Name me a left leaning party that's got anywhere near power since the 70s. Yes, Corbyn briefly showed things might be different but that was very quickly extinguished. I'd rather it wasn't the case, but it is. Your claims of how right leaning Starmer is is comically OTT though. Not very left I'll grant you, but hardly Atilla the hun. [Post edited 14 May 20:59]
