maybe if it was actual analysis, and not just a bunch of ex footballers stating the obvious and citing rules of the game that dont exist anymore because their game knowledge is 20 years at least out of date, I think I can cope without their input.
youll probably find its a far more prosaic reason than the Beeb doing you a favour, in that given the artists performing, theyve probably applied all kinds of horrible repeat fees/iplayer limits that would just make it difficult, expensive or just impossible for the Beeb to show parts or highlights of the final again with the half time show attached to it, this way theyve probably got more scope to do things with the game footage.

Probably one of the few things that Roy Keane ever got right was the "Prawn Sandwich brigade" We see this endlessly at Wembley where those in the hospitality area show as much interest in football as I do with classical music and ballet (each to their own by the way).
But then America is renowned for bally ho, razzamatazz and all that. The big problem is that although large parts of the USA are poor there are many that go the extra mile to pay for things that many cannot afford or would be severely stretched.
This world cup will be beyond many. Personally even if I could afford to go and pay extortionate amounts to stay,watch games,travel etc I wouldn't and I apply that to anything. If I feel it bears no relation to what it's worth, then no thanks. | | | |

Most expensive tournament in history, costing anything to well over £10k to follow your team through the whole thing. A family of four can have a very nice holiday for that comfortably.
