I’m too young to remember him as a player but a great manager for that Fergie spat

Very sad

I think he made a cameo role in Jossy's Giants (butI could be wrong - I know Brian Robson did) - this is really showing my age now

Town players aside, mid 70’s he was my favourite player. Small’ish, brave, dynamic, energetic. Bit fiery( 74 Charity Shield), Big Al giving him a few digs, but really made the most of what he had. Post George Best he was the superstar (no bike pun intended), and played it well, the Brut ad, Green Cross code ad’, boots, games, the perm, had a record out, (Head over heels for loving you?), England captain. Missed those 70’s world cups, and when he did make one he was already playing injured. Euro player of the year twice? Icon.

And, although really unimportant in the grand scheme of things, he is a brilliant after dinner speaker
Seen him on a couple of occasions and is really funny and engaging and completely unlike the usual stuff you get from his peers.

He even uses powerpoint to great comic effect

that Newcastle team in the early to mid nineties, were a joy to watch. Immensely frustrating as they were so good, but that's what probably made them a joy to watch, if they'd have refined it even slightly it wouldn't have been the same.

A proper character as well Kev, didn't see him play as i was too young but loved him as a manager.

Keegan & Toshack, one of the best forward partnerships ever.

Fond memories of the 1974 Charity Shield when Keegan and Billy Bremner were jointly dismissed from the field in the 60th minute after a fist fight

And it was Johnny Giles who actually hit him!

Saddened to hear.
Great player
Toshack and Keegan for Liverpool, classic big man/small man striker partnership.
Very annoying when playing for Soton against us.

The word 'legend' is used far too easily these days but KK deserves to be known as a legend of the English game. He got every ounce out of his talent on numerous stages and he was head and shoulders the very best English player of his era. Such a shame the England team of the 70s was so poor around him.The 'Superstars' bike crash cemented his legend and the Patrick Keegan footy boots of the early 80s were something special too. His teams looked to lay football the right way and unlike many, KK was willing to fall on his sword when it wasn't working. Having had cancer myself, I know how hard it is to fight but if KK is anything, he is a fighter. Stage 4 is a teal barsteward and I hope that he can maintain some quality of life and give it a good run for its money. A true legend.

I saw him play a number of times for Liverpool and Southampton. Didn’t like him much. He was just too good. Top player and a privilege to have seen him play. I wish him well.

Had the privilege to meet KK when he was playing for Southampton. Really nice guy, signed every autograph requested of him and had time for everyone. Great player too.

Fantastic player at Liverpool. He and Paul Mariner were big favorites for every schoolboy when playing football in the park.

Poll: If KM goes now, will you applaud him when he returns with his new club?
